I tried searching and couldn't find anything specific.
I want to use Cobra Suzukas in my E36 sedan and am curious which mounts work best. It's my understanding that the Cobra seat mounts won't work in E36's? Anyone who's running these seats in an E36, please post which mounts you used.
TIA

Contact HMS. They recommend the "Wedge Engineering" seat bracket along w/ the brey krause side mount. Only thing you have to do is enlarge the holes a bit.

Would this be the same approach taken for the Cobra Evolution GT? I have been trying to find an easy way (ie. no fabrication) to get this seat into my racecar (95 M3). I am tired of waiting for Recaro to release their HANS XL.

Yes, the Suzuka is going into our Dad's car and both Jared and I are going with the Evo's. I believe that HMS recommends the same approach for all the Cobra seats.

I installed a Suzuka in my e36 M3 with Cobra aluminum side mounts and a Wedge mounting bracket. There was nothing easy about it. First I had to set the base mounts in place and set the seat with side mounts attached on the bottom mounts to find the correct seating position. Then mark the base mount and check it again, and again until you think its right. Then you have to see if any of the pre-drilled holes line up which if you are lucky one out of four will. Then start drilling in the bottom mount to attach to the side mounts. If you are real lucky you will be satisfied with the seat position the first try (which I wasn't). As slider would make this process a little easier as you would only need to get the side to side position correct. Good luck.
By the way. I still have my e36 Wedge mounting bracket if you are interested I'll let it go cheap.

How thick is the wedge mount?

from the bottom of the mount to the top where the seat bottom goes is 1.75". Without a slider and the side mounts set all the way to the bottom my seat was plenty low enough for me.

I have a Cobra Evolution seat mounted in my E36 M3 sedan using OMP side mounts ($60 at saferacer), Momo universal slider ($50 at cardomain) and VAC adapter plates ($ouch). A bit of a wiggle until all holes align initially, but relatively painless and clearance is great with respect to the B-pillar and door. Absolutely no fab or grinding was required for the install (vs my last seat install with Sparco E36 adapter, slider, side mount and Evo seat which required major fab and grinding to get everything to come together).
The suzuka should mount up just the same with the above components as the Evolution, I think they are pretty similar seats ex: head protection.
