I was planning on changing my power steering fluid. I easily found the refill/resevior area, but can't find where I can drain it first.
Thanks!

View Full Version : Where is the Power Steering Drain? davidk 02-13-2006, 04:21 PM I was planning on changing my power steering fluid. TXBDan 02-13-2006, 05:12 PM there isnt one. youd have to pop a line off somewhere on the low pressure side 10kken 02-13-2006, 05:13 PM There is none! Most people that I know of change the fluid by emptying the reservoir with a turkey baster or similar implement, refill, drive around some so the remaining old fluid mixes with te fresh, then repeating the drain and fill. Obviously this method is not perfect, but you can change most of the old stuff out. Fortunately, the reservior doesn't hold a lot of fluid so you don't have to waste too much. davidk 02-13-2006, 06:03 PM Any recommendations for where to disconnect the low pressure line? Although I do not know where to do this, I should be able to handle a disconnect, drain, and reconnect. Thanks again for your help! Vonzoom 02-13-2006, 06:49 PM Disconnect at the pump. |
