Yes, the 8 Series is quite frankly my favourite BMW ever. When i first saw the 8 series, which was during my childhood back in early 90s, i was only 8 or so. And ever since then i have been continously drooling over this car

But i'm only 18, and far from owning one. But hopefully when i'm 30 or so, and have atleast 20k in my account, i'll get one. And my perfect 8 would be a black, six speed, v12. Yum.

So yeah, just wanted to let you guys know, maybe i'll buy one of your 8s ;-)

Um, which interior colour does a black 8 come in??

8's are hot, but i aim higher with my goal for one.... i think a twin turbo v12 would be really nice... with a calypsorot paint job, and tan interior, and some modest wheels on it. :-P

but, i dont really plan on buying an 8 unless i become rich.

actually, i'd rather just put the TT V12 in my 3 series :-D

I'll take your e39 M5 trade straight up!!!!! Seriously, I'm looking to get around $17k - 19k for it. I have all the service records from the previous owner and I have alway had it serviced at my local BMW center. Oil changed every 3,000 miles and I also have the stock wheels for it. I'm currently on vacation but if you are serious and would like to see the car in person. Let me know

Been a BIG fan of the 8 myself. In fact, the 8 was the first bimmer that ever caught my eye back in 2000. I ended up going another route but still aspire to have a clean 8 like e30Ryan in the garage.

What do you mean by RIGHT EURO CSi?

What do you mean by RIGHT EURO CSi?

The euro specced 8s?? Where will you be able to find those?

Yes. The Euro Spec 850 CSi. There is a Federalization process where you can import 1994/1995 Euro Spec 850 CSi (And probably the most coveted ALPINA B12/5.7). The process is time and money consuming. The federalization process is $10K (Changing Light Modules, Multiple tests, OBD Cert, etc). But the Price of the CSi in Germany is not bad and even with the Federalization process it is of great value. There are several Euro 850 CSi (Including 1 ALPINA B12/5.7) in the US currently. They look similer (Except the Alpina) but has additional performance. Especially Active Rear Kinematics and early adaptation of 4 wheel steering.

Here is the link to US vs EURO Specs (http://www.my850csi.com/8erData/USAvsEuroVersions/tabid/93/Default.aspx)

Here is almost everything you want to know about the 8 series. (http://www.e31.net/english.html)

Here are some Alpina Pics.

How costly are they for repairs?
Are parts really hard to get?

I'm thinking of selling my 88' 325is, spending some savings, and getting a 91' 850csi 6spd. (Black) ... It's my dream car, too! :D

Only thing is it's going to be my daily driver (crazy, huh?), so I need a reliable car. If there are repairs that are going to cost the same amount as the car itself in the near future, I might have to re-think. I can handle a decent amt. of upkeep, but how reliable are they after 100K miles?

Ant :help is greatly appreciated! Thanx!!!

Several 850s on Roadfly are around 200,000 miles and still going strong.

My 840 is only a teenager at 144,000 miles.
