View Full Version : Place to get wheel repair done.
EEEEeeee36 02-11-2006, 05:18 AM I need some help here. I drove over a landscaping brick at 35 (it was night and a friggin tree was blocking out the street light... headlights caught it too late)... blew out my tire and bent my rim. City of Bothell denied my claim because they claimed that the landscaping brick that was part of their city landscaping was "removed by vandals" and they didn't have any forworned knowledge of it until I hit it. How conVENient....
Anyways, I have a dent the diameter of a baseball on the inside of my rim, plus a flat tire. I would file a claim with my insurance but they told me that since I was moving it would be considered an AT FAULT accident!! WTF??!! :banghead: It was friggin ROAD DEBRI for F*** sake.... bygons.. I can't afford a new stock BMW rims, or a set of rims right now, so I need to get this one fixed because I've been rolling on my spare for two months now. Where should I go? How much do these things usually cost?
TIA!!!!!! :wave

some lady backed her car into my quarter panel a few days back. She also ended up landing her car on my rear wheel. The cheapest i was quoted was $150 for repair. the damage is not even that bad just paint chips and a couple little gashes on my lip. What sorta stock rims do you have? Maybe you should just look for a single replacement..

I have the 1997 Sport 10-spoke style... I was quoted $318 (wholesale) from the dealership for a new one. I haven't been able to source one used one anywhere, and I spent half a day once a week for four weeks in a row trying to call al the different wheel shops/wrecking yards/etc etc.
Thanks for giving me a dollar number to think about.... I could buy a new rim for that much I'm sure... but of course that means three others too!
Andres 02-11-2006, 06:20 AM I would honestly look in to another set of wheels. Hell, you can get double spoke I's for $400 a set now. I would get a new set right now if I could afford the tires lol. I have 3 different tires brands on my car right now!!! :confused Then I could loan my wheels to you.

Is that your new car dog? Damn , nice way to step up! I know you wanted an M3, but I'd rock that just as well!
Car is going good... as soon as April rolls around it'll get a fender replaced and a fresh coat of paint over her... long story on the fender. She's gone almost fully M-Technic, and she'll get cams and a chip in a month or so. Turbo by next year for sure. Gotta have something to drive that is not as boring as my wife's C230 KOMPRESSOR. :rolleyes Talk about taking all of the feeling out of driving... Just got new gauge dials TONIGHT! Pics to come soon.... they are friggin SWEET.
///w3fl3x 02-12-2006, 01:59 AM So you need ds2s?
Do you need the 7.5 or 8.5?
One of my brother's 7.5 cracked on him after the tires blew on him on the highway. So we have two 8.5 and one 7.5.
Just bought a used set of momo wheels and new es100 today. So we have the ds2s sitting in the garage.
Scotth 02-12-2006, 02:01 AM I have heard good things about Fosters wheel and tire in Ballard for wheel repair, no personal experience with them though.

Landerholm 02-13-2006, 06:34 AM Just blew out two of my brand new 17" Pilot Sports on the driver side after running over an aluminum ladder. Rims are fine lol.
Good thing you didnt have your M3 bumper back then or you might have a brick-shaped hole in it right now lol.

I was just saying that is the going price. I bought four DS1's off an original owner of '95 M3 with 20,000 miles for $400. Search your local BMWCCA board.
Andres 02-13-2006, 08:10 PM Hell you can buy BRAND new kosei K1's for $188 each on Tire Rack now.

96328inptown 02-17-2006, 04:46 AM Skips wheels werks down here fixed a Fikse wheel on my WS6 they did an excellent job and the price was only 75 but that was a polished wheel, I have a contour that is pretty hacked I'm going to see if they can fix it tomorrow and see how much....
EEEEeeee36 02-17-2006, 06:54 AM Thanks to everybody who contributed. It is turning out to be more of a PITA and more expensive than I originally thought; all for rims I'm not THRILLED to roll. I am unsubscribing - I will just get some new rims with the tax refund! :D
PEACE.

EEEEeeee36 06-12-2006, 04:37 AM After much contemplation (and blowing about $5000 more than I wanted to spend on an awesome 3-week vacation in the Philippines) I am going to have my rim fixed. Luckily, the dent is on the inside of the rim and not the outside so it doesn't need any painting or finishing work. I can't afford new rims until after summer, and even then I'd rather spend that money on go-fast mods, brakes, and suspension. I'll let you guys know who I use, how much, and how it turned out! :alright
