I've always thought their catalogue and internet products were way overpriced, but I bought an anti-rattle clip for my front brake caliper off their internet site because it was the only place I could find it on the net. It was only $11.95! :rolleyes

Today when I get the part, all shrink-wrapped and so on, I discover it's USED. it's all scratched up and, although it works fine, I feel ripped off paying $12 for a part that's used.:mad

never again will i buy from this ripoff retailer.

i highly doubt it was used. i've done business with BAVAUTO both as a supplier and as a customer. and their prices are direct representation of what MSRP is from all manufacturers. they are not a rip off they are the one stop shop for people who don't mind paying retail for products and service that are top notch. BAVAUTO is not a shop for all. the bargain shopper must move on. also this complaint needs to be in the vendor forum. this complaint is not M3 specific.

uh, i drive an M3. why is not M3 specific? are you telling me i don't know the difference between new and used? i'd gladly invite you to come look at the piece. scratches mean USED.

i obviously can't see the part in question, and i only said i doubt it. and yes this is not m3 specific because you are bashing a vendor not speaking about something specific to the m3.

also, if it was used. why didn't you call them? they would have fixed the situation at no additional cost to you.

I used to buy a lot from them in the past because I used to live near their warehouse. I really doubt that the part was used, maybe looked that way from sitting there a long time, who knows. I've never had any problems with them, althought I don't buy from them that often now.Good thing about them is that they stock pretty much everything they advertise. Regarding pricing, Yes they list very high prices on their stuff but they also do price matching. For example, I wanted to get the Eibach springs for my car and Tire rack was out of stock, I called Bav Auto told them how much Tire Rack had them for and they said "sure no problem we could do that" and shipped them out same day, I think that's pretty good service to me. I'm not affiliated in any way with this people, just throwing my .02.

I think they have one of the better customer service departments around. They are overpriced compared to the internet and EBAY, but what else isn't?

Bavauto does carry somethings that I wouldn't be able to find elsewhere, but it is our responsability as consumers to look around and find better prices.

I rarely buy from them much anymore, but when I did they always went out of their way to make something right if there was a problem.

pelicanparts.com is hands down the best online retailer. You can enter any BMW part number in their search bar and get the price - for any part number! I used to deal with BavAuto, but then I had a similar experience. If it wasn't for that though, I wouldn't have found pelicanparts. Check them out.

100% agree, they have amazing service and have not let me down. I have made 6 orders in the past 2 months and been very pleased with them!

TMS also impressed me with their service!

Never had a problem with Bavauto, but pelicanparts.com is the sh!t.

realoem.com + pelicanparts.com = all you ever need for OEM parts.

Bavauto probably has direct supliers that shipped the part. Anyway what is the big deal about a few scratches on an anti-rattle clip. If you dont like it call them. Did the auction tell you it was new?

Haha, I use realoem and Pelican almost every day. Pelican has free shipping now for $75+ orders.

I agree they have good service.
The price might be a bit higher than if you shopped around but you get excelent service from them.

I've personally have ordered a couple of stuff from them. The last being my mtech front lip. They were very helpful with other questions that i had about products on their site too.

Sounds like the clip was scratched while it was at the warehouse.

Ive found prices cheaper a few places after I bought from them. I would just email them and they would refund me the difference. I have never had a problem with them, and they can get just about anything you will ever need.

+1. You can send them links to cheaper prices at the time of the order and they will match all competitors' prices. That's why I order from them when I can.

Today when I get the part, all shrink-wrapped and so on, I discover it's USED. it's all scratched up and, although it works fine, .

We have bins of small metal parts in stock that become scratched just from being in a bin with other metal parts. This is normal, your part is not used.

never again will i buy from this ripoff retailer.

I missed the part where someone held a gun to your head for this purchase.

Sorry to come off as crass, its just homoghey to bitch about something when you had about a bazillion other options, yet, you didn't choose any of them.

FWIW, I've done business with them several times, and they strike me as one of the top-shelf vendors in the BMW community. Fast, great communication, and good service with people who are eductated.

are you eductated? sorry, couldn't resist.

nobody held a gun to my head, i was just looking for ease of ordering without having to make a phone call when i wanted a part at 11pm. it's not worth the effort to send it back. like i said, it's completely functional, just disappointing it doesn't look new

A $12 part that is going on your brake caliper where it will get dirty, hot, wet, constantly and you are SO upset that it has some scratches on it that you immediately post a negative thread about the company and never even give them a chance to take care of the problem? You could have called them. And for them to send you another one would really be a waste of time like you said because it's a waste of time to get upset about a $12 part going on your brake caliper in my opinion. Could have always shot it with some paint in about 30 seconds. I know I need a vacation and you may too, I've been there before. :eyecrazy

did it happen to be on clearance? if it was, there are some used parts on there, and it is clearly stated that they are used, or have scratches, or etc...

I used to get a lot of factory parts from bavauto with really no problems. The shipping always arrived a day earlier than expected and the parts were exactly as ordered no questions asked. That is untill I became a BMWCCA member and started buying my parts from the $tealer at a much better price plus no waiting on shipping ;)

Of all the times I've ordered from bavauto, only 1 mixup had occured. I ordered a set of berber floor mats from them once and they sent me mats to fit a convertible, not a coupe, which I have. I simply returned them and purchased some factory mats from the $tealer. I didn't really like the "berber look" anyway, especially in he black I ordered, so I suppose it was better I return them anyway as I would have eventually.

BavAuto is not a ripoff merchant in any way, if the product you ordered arrived in a "used" condition, I would have simply contacted them by phone and personally explained the situation and I'm sure it would have been resolved promptly with no questions asked.

Bav Auto has sold me various pieces with no problems, unless high prices is your problem. before bashing anyone, attempt to contact the seller and resolve the issue!
If at that point you are shut down ,then post your concerns.
It doesn't sound like you even contacted them?
It sounds like you just got straight on the forums and bashed?.

Weird - I've had good service from them generally. My only criticism would be their handling and tracking of backorders.

I'd do business with them again.

they've taken care of me every single time;
regardless if it was their mistake or mine

my greek connection who used to work there said that they jack up their prices and the people who dont have a clue will pay for their goods, but the knowledgeable people will search around and get the best price and then
call and they will always match it. It's their new strategy.
