I'm totally new to 2002s but I saw one that really peaked my interest. How reliable are these cars, could they be used as a daily driver for a short commute?

What should I look out for and how much should this car with 135k mile cost?

Is it difficult/expensive to find replacement parts?

2002s make good daily drivers if you take care of them and are willing to spend some money. Parts are pretty abundant...ebay usually has a pretty big selection. You should check out www.bmw2002faq.com that is a great site to answer any of your 02 questions. Make sure you look for rust, but i see you are in texas so thats prolly not a problem. I would say the car you have listed is prolly worth 1500-2500. It just depends on what's been done to the car and what shape the interior and body is in. Good luck

I think it would be quite difficult to put any price on the car in the pic you attached, without having any idea of it's mechanical condition, interior, or the condition of it's body. A car like that without rust would be worth more than 2500 on that basis alone - however, a car with a rebuilt engine but a rusted out shell might not be worth much than that.

Do a search. There was a recent thread about 02's as daily drivers.

I think the guy who has the car currently sometimes posts on 2002faq however i cant remember his name. As for them being daily drivers, Beaner (on this board) drives his daily and i know he loves every minute of it.
