Has anyone tried to install aftermarket speakers and subs, because I have been told that idrive is exrtremely difficult to work with? I was looking at some JL w6's though, and the sales person said it was possible.

PrestigeBMW 02-15-2006, 01:06 PM when someone is selling u something..they will say it is always possible...but remember what the system is now...companies like BMW benz jag are constantly thinking of ways where cust will stop putting in aftermarket parts...for example some model benz will reprogram itself if the battery is left undone and it cost about 180 bucks to reprogram...anyways....the i drive purpose is to try and keep people from hacking into the system...there is always a way but would i recommend it...no...sorry man..unless you dont mind losing the warranty steelerfan 02-15-2006, 02:55 PM Has anyone tried to install aftermarket speakers and subs, because I have been told that idrive is exrtremely difficult to work with? Allow people to keep their current stereos and add aftermarket subs. go to their website and check it out. Any authorized JL audio dealer will have more info on if this will work with your beamer. carrascopa 03-09-2006, 12:47 PM I would think an inline converter would set you straight!
