Allright, so some of you have babysat me all the way through this rebuild. Well another question has arisen, and once agasin, I need you guys help. For those of you that don't know my 89 535 got hot enough to need a new head and gasket, allbeit a new radiator, water pump, and thermostat. But in stop and go, it STILL gets hot, even when I take the thermosatat completely out. I feel like a broken record. Any sugestions guys? Please help.

There is no magic here.
#1 - is the temperature sensor okay? You can measure this with an ohmeter if you know the specification.
#2 - If you have replaced the radiator, coolant pump, head, head gasket and thermostat with good parts, and if the sensor is good, then you have a coolant blockage inside the engine block. Has the car had its coolant changed every 2 - 3 years during its life?

Is there any white smoke from the exhaust? Cracked Block?

would this type of heat ( It never goes past red, just right up to it and then starts to 'shimmy' upon acceleration at that extreme temp and as I said, normal on highway, right at the half way mark) be typical for a high mileage 89 535 if I was in very slow stop n go? Where is the coolant temp sensor to check it's voltage? A little white smoke at first but It has been getting better. I'm pretty sure that was just burning oil and antifreeze outta the exaust from the gasket faliure. Block looked good upon inspection before head replacement. I'd also like to add that the heater, when the thermostat was in of course, was still not blowing any hot air, just mildly warm at times if anything above room temp. I don't know much about the car before I bought it and the mileage is uncorrect, so I don't know bout the coolant change. I thought I had flushed the system pretty well. Any rocket science that I might have missed there? Could I have cause blockage in the engine somewhere inadvertantly during my rebuild without knowing it? What would be the course of action if that be the case? Anybody near New Orleans wanna check it out with thier own little peepers:D thanks again for your input guys
