It should work but you can get a much cheaper system aftermarket.

i usually do alarms installed with keyless entry for $175, look on craigslist or check with local stereo shops, remote start pager alarms are great to have also.

No, you can program it yourself...it's very easy. If you go back to my other post...I inserted a link to my cardomain site that has copies of the instructions for the BMW/Alpine keyless entry system.
All you need to do with any new remote is...remove the chip inside the remote fob...place it into the control unit (which reprograms the chip)...then place the chip back into the fob.
Here's a few of the instructions (new or replacement chips aren't necessary if the fob already contains one...only need new ones if the old ones are missing):

sweet :cool :cool :cool I didn't have the supplimental alarm manual in with the rest of the paperwork when I bought the car and of course all the printing is worn off of my buttons. :thumbup:
