I was behind a dump truck the other day and lo and behold something must have launched out and nailed my hood. I have a 1" x 1" area with various scrathes through the clearcoat. One small part looks like its down to bare metal.
Is there something i I can put over the area to protect it until the weather gets warmer and I can either get it touched up or repainted?

just buy some spray paint that looks similar to your car color. clean the bare metal real well with soap and water dry it good then spray some paint on it.

Go sit in the corner. Now.
Liberally applied Sealant Glaze will keep it from rusting or anything like that. LANGKA the scratches when youre ready.

what i said is fine the whole hood needs to be re cleared and if it really is bare metal it needs to be feather edged, surfaced, re based then cleared.

I really hope your canned response is never listened to here.... I dont have the time or patience to go through your previous posts and see if you are similarly an idiot. (I dont care if you work in a body shop).
Personally, I would take some touch up paint and put it on there, then do a bit of wet sanding. If your going to have it professionally fixed, then it shouldnt matter.
Claybar first, then try polish... if that doesnt work, use touchup, then wetsand a bit.
