for my project '02, i am trying to find a nice 13",14", or even a 15" deep dish wheel that will fit with turbo flares. my problem is finding any kind of old school wheel that matches my needs or even finding a shop/distributor who would have them. anyone have any suggestions?? i feel like i've exhausted almost all options. thanks in advance.

In Germany, these are really popular for that type of setup:

ATS Classic Wheel, 13" x 8"

Here is an auction for you on German Ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.de/ATS-Classic-Alufelgen-8x13-Opel-Manta-Ascona-A-B_W0QQitemZ8035388975QQcategoryZ40256QQrdZ1QQcmdZV iewItem

This seller won't sell outside of Europe though. Look at that link, that category should eventually net you some wheels you want. The German word for Aluminum wheels is "alufelgen". They sell hundreds of wheels every day for cheeep. The shipping will easily be $30/wheel to get them here in a month by the mail system. That is the cheapest route.

I have bought probably a dozen set of wheels this way in the last 4 years, including 2 sets of the real deal 15" and 13" Alpina wheels I eventually sold.

My own wheels for Stella came from there - I got a set of the ATS Classic 15" x 6", that matched from the seller for $170. Even got a 5th wheel to match for the spare if I needed. These originally came on Opels sold in Germany, there are lots of them available that need just to be bead blasted and refinished.

Just another option for you. Good luck on your hunt.

They are pretty expensive but still extremely nice...
Check out some of the VW forums...ie. vwvortex or watever that one is called as some of the VW's have the same bolt pattern

Note, the ones pictured are probly a bit big, but it gives you a good idea;)

yeah, those RS's are pretty much perfect for what i'm looking for.
I had found the ATS wheels and was even considering getting a set of the ATS cups, but not sure of how they would look on the '02.

The Rota RB 13x8 are pretty badass. They look like Panasport lites. The offset is +3 or 4 mm so it's pretty debatable whether it'll need spacers or not so as not to rub on the inner side of the rim/tire.. If you search ebay, there's a dude always selling them. Search "rota rb" :smiliecap

Which brings a slightly offtopic/thread jack question....would those wheels cause too much wear on the wheelbearings ? Just wanted to know what yall thought.

other end to my question would be, with the turbo flares on, how wide a wheel is ideal, and what should be a good offset to look for?

There will be 6mm more clearance between the wheel and strut than a 14x6 E30 bottlecap. They might need tiny spacers if you are running 245's but no one makes them anymore anyway :dunno
