98///M3 03-01-2006, 03:23 AM For sure, this e46 330ci put out more then a SC e46 M3. This is an Amazing machine. Any one know what type of SC the car is running? was that the white one, the 330ci? infamous 03-01-2006, 12:52 PM How is that? I thought the drivetrain loss was independent of the dynamometer machine. :confused I was reading a bunch of articles about drivetrain loss the other day. And I remember reading somewhere that there is a 16% drivetrain loss when you dyno on a dynojet. So basically, there is a 16% difference between the wheel horse power and crank horse power.. i hope this is making sense. Its too early for me and im half asleep :embarrasm Brad D. 03-01-2006, 01:09 PM Drivetrain loss has nothing to do with the dyno, it has to do with the particular drivetrain setup. There is a ballpark figure of 16 percent with the dynojet but it's not completely accurate for every vehicle. Again let me emphasize that motor horsepower means nothing. Absolutely zero so why even worry about it. Brad D. 03-01-2006, 01:10 PM was that the white one, the 330ci? The white one is running a vortech with a lot of boost, I think he's running 11psi on that. infamous 03-01-2006, 01:15 PM Drivetrain loss has nothing to do with the dyno, it has to do with the particular drivetrain setup. Thanks for clearing that up :alright So, how much drivtrain loss will a 4WD have? nismo skyline 03-01-2006, 02:14 PM Oh, ok. Thanks for clearing that up :alright So, how much drivtrain loss will a 4WD have? between 22-25 percent lost. automatic cars also suffer from drivetrain loss T-Rex 03-01-2006, 04:55 PM The white one is running a vortech with a lot of boost, I think he's running 11psi on that. Actually, he was running a ASA blower with 10psi :) 98///M3 03-01-2006, 06:27 PM between 22-25 percent lost. automatic cars also suffer from drivetrain loss so autos usually suffer from the same drivetrain loss as AWD cars? T-Rex 03-01-2006, 07:29 PM so autos usually suffer from the same drivetrain loss as AWD cars? autos are usually around 20-22%. AWD is 25-30%. ewuzh 03-01-2006, 09:24 PM Brad, do you have more info on "Josh-99 Maxima-285rwhp"? His dyno printout says he made 241whp, but originally the shop tech told him he made 284whp, so there may be a mixup here. How much power did he really put down? Eric Brad D. 03-01-2006, 10:54 PM Brad, do you have more info on "Josh-99 Maxima-285rwhp"? His dyno printout says he made 241whp, but originally the shop tech told him he made 284whp, so there may be a mixup here. How much power did he really put down? Eric I really don't know...I copied down what I thought was his reading, the only way to know is go back and look it up on the dynomometer. I mean what should his car be putting down? If it's not close to 285 then you know that's a mistake. NakNak 03-01-2006, 11:12 PM So what exactly happened with the live video feed? nismo skyline 03-02-2006, 12:51 AM the shops internet was down, therefore no live feed was broadcasted sgi4side 03-02-2006, 01:59 AM Actually, he was running a ASA blower with 10psi :) This car is a 2003 Stage III Supercharged 330ci @ 9.5PSI. He also have cams, headers, a ported and polished head, 40# injectors, 3.07 diff, SSK, custom tuning, etc etc... That was a year ago he was at 330rwhp. Which means that .5 psi plus something else major yield 60 more hp. T-Rex 03-02-2006, 02:21 AM This car is a 2003 Stage III Supercharged 330ci @ 9.5PSI. He told me he was running 10psi, and that was the Stage IV....dunno, you seem to know more about the car than I do :) sgi4side 03-02-2006, 02:42 AM He told me he was running 10psi, and that was the Stage IV....dunno, you seem to know more about the car than I do :) Wow Stage 4 http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=301633&page=11 That link has a lot more information on the stage 4 ASA supercharger kit. If that is a stage 4 those number are soild clumpymold 03-02-2006, 04:09 AM Looking at my AFR on my dyno, I was told I was running very lean. If the AFR is lower than expected, doesn't that actually mean I'm running RICH? Because it honestly feels like I'm getting lower MPG than most. :dunno T-Rex 03-02-2006, 04:19 AM Looking at my AFR on my dyno, I was told I was running very lean. If the AFR is lower than expected, doesn't that actually mean I'm running RICH? Because it honestly feels like I'm getting lower MPG than most. :dunno what do you mean by lower? Let me look at your dyno.... T-Rex 03-02-2006, 04:20 AM Looking at my AFR on my dyno, I was told I was running very lean. If the AFR is lower than expected, doesn't that actually mean I'm running RICH? Because it honestly feels like I'm getting lower MPG than most. :dunno Your AFR looks ok to me....who told you you were lean? I remember Garrett was leaning out, but yours looks fine. ewuzh 03-02-2006, 02:28 PM I really don't know...I copied down what I thought was his reading, the only way to know is go back and look it up on the dynomometer. I mean what should his car be putting down? If it's not close to 285 then you know that's a mistake. He's running the same psi as James who put down 318. He also has an Air-to-Water aftecooler, but other mods were similar. Only difference is he is auto and James is 5-speed. Only difference is he is auto and James is 5-speed. 285 sounds reasonable then.... Brad D. 03-02-2006, 06:51 PM I was impressed with the way the BMW's represented, it's too bad no Turbo M3's showed up or S/C E46 M3's like were supposed to have shown up. T-Rex 03-02-2006, 07:00 PM I'll be fixing that Turbo M3 problem as soon as I can afford to :evil2 S54MCoupe 03-03-2006, 04:16 AM I was looking through those pictures... there is an E46 with a Delage CF Airbox... was the car owners name Peter? If so, I saw him pulled over on the side of the 2 FWY, heading north. I stopped to see if he was ok and whatnot. He seemed like a cool guy. No other relevance at all, haha. clumpymold 03-03-2006, 06:16 AM Out of curiosity, how did the other E36 M3s dyno look? Anyone on here care to scan their dyno sheets (aside from T-Rex - I know why his looks slightly different)? :D Brad D. 03-03-2006, 06:17 AM I was looking through those pictures... there is an E46 with a Delage CF Airbox... was the car owners name Peter? Yup, that's Peter, I'm sure you've seen him pulled over more than once. He's gotten several tickets and almost had his car impounded for street racing. He's been one lucky guy so far. S54MCoupe 03-04-2006, 06:38 AM Yup, that's Peter, I'm sure you've seen him pulled over more than once. He's gotten several tickets and almost had his car impounded for street racing. He's been one lucky guy so far. Right on. When I saw him, he was pulled over due to engine difficulty, not because of a cop. Tell him the guy with the black M Coupe from the 2fwy said hello, if you see him. |
