I was wondering if anyone in socal would like to go on a canyon run. I have some classmates from UTI who are canyon runners as well that are going up to GMR next weekend (the weekend after the Super Bowl). I am not definate on the date and time. He will be getting in contact with me this weekend and give me all of the information that I need.

Anyone is welcome to come. A few rules though:

1. When meeting up first before going to the canyon's absolutely NO engine revving, doughnuts, burn outs, or anything that would attract the attention of cops.
2. Please be curteous to everyone and no flaming on other people's rides (it is not all bmw's there will be hondas, evos, saabaru's and much more).
3. When going up to the canyons, please DO NOT speed or reckless drive. Again, we do not want to attract the attention of cops around the area.

For those of you who are not familiar with GMR, it is located in Azusa off the 210 freeway. I am not 100% where it is either. That is why there is going to be a spot where all of us can meet up. The full information will be updated when I get word from him. Please keep this in mind. I believe that it is going to be on the 12th of February, and lets keep it safe out there and please leave your ego's at home.

*EDIT*

The final location is GMR in Azusa. The meeting spot will be the Shell gas station on Azusa Blvd. Near the base of the canyon.

Meeting time: 9:00 PM
Date: February 11, 2006.

From what one of the people who organized everything, this is going to a FILMED event and it will eventually be put onto a DVD (but I am not 100% sure about this) hopefully it will be filmed, and if it is, all of the cars present will be in the DVD. see you all there.

Lets make a list going for now

just don't race up the canyon at night on the way up there for the first time (especially on the weekend)

when I say "first time" I mean arriving there for the first time of the night. They don't know you're coming.

lots of kids two-laning downhill.

make sure your headlights are good, it is pitch black, there are some really really tight corners you will not see coming up, so headlights must be good!!!

good ole uti! i went there a while back, and i did glendora mountain road too a couple times.

if you have never done it before, a group of people. 100% chance someone is going off the mountain.

it is hardcore. dont do it at night, and drive it first. lets put it this way. its been closed in the past due to people racing it, going off the cliff and dieing.

its pretty sweet though. personally, i like laguna canyon road at around 3 am...

bump and ill be there, ill be taking it easy though ....

i drove this road 5 days ago, its insane .... like wow your eyes start getting blurry and stuff...

you can only see to the end of your head lights and on sharp turn your headlights are in a wierd angle. its a rush and its very exhausting

garrett, unfortunately i dont have an address, since you are coming from UCR it shouldnt be too hard find, just get on the 210W and then exit azusa. once you get off, there should be a shell gas station around the offramp, its right there you cant miss it

hey guys, just an update...

the main part of GMR is CLOSED!

you cant even get to it cuz all the roads are closed. I drove the backside a week ago when i accidently ran into from another road. the back side section is only a mile or so until i hit the summit and it was closed there too, so i advise you to change locations
