Just thought I'd let you know.. for Feb. bmw is offering 2.99 for 60 months, and from what the dealer told me the credit requirement isn't all that stiff. Also, you can pay it off before the term is up with no penalty..

My car will be here the end of this month and I was already approved for a loan through my bank, but came across this deal last night.. looks like i'll be going through bmw.

as long as you're approved for the loan by the end of feb, it is good up to 60 days later.. so you don't necessarily have to purchase this month.

Is this documented anywhere or is this just something specific to your dealer?

:dunno: call your local dealer and ask. i called mine, said i ordered a car from them in jan. and it would be here later this month and asked about the 2.99.. he said yes, it's a "special" bmw is running for the month of feb.

i'm not trying to pull off the lie of the century guys.. just passing on what i found out today. maybe your dealership will have it as well. maybe it won't.

Hi folks:
I just bought my '01 530i with that percentage. It made it cheaper than a comparable 3 series.

My dealer told me this is a special promotion bmw is running in the mid-west for the month of February that may rotate around the country. Dealers are also given the option of "buying down" the rate. I just ordered mine at 1.9%. Some dealers are buying all the way down to 0%.

What do you mean by 'buying down the rate' to get to 1.9 or 0%?

Good luck with Baron BMW. I tried to order a 325i and they said that it would take so long to deliver it that the 1.9% would "expire" by then. Said BMW is swamped with orders because of this promotion. Quoted a 3-4 moth wait time.

So, I punted them. Just ordered through an out-of-town dealer, very professional, but only 2.9%, not 1.9% (they are not buying it down). Got a lower price though. Best of all, car should be here in 3-4 weeks, as opposed to 3-4 months.

P.S. Baron never told me about the 1.9%. I had an ELOAN lined up, then saw an ad in the Saturday paper. when I called them the following Monday, they were like "Oh yeah, that's a special BMW is running"...there's much more to the story, but you get the drift. They will not do you any favors unless you force them to. I think this is where the term "stealership" comes from.

Well.. I got in on the 2.9 financing a few weeks ago. My car should arrive in the next day or two at the dealer. So I called the salesman tonight to ask a few questions and he said he "got" me in on the 1.9 rate.. I asked about it several weeks ago and it wasn't available, so who knows what BMW's process is of making it available in different areas.

True.
My sales guy at Erhard here in Michigan told me that once I applied for the financing in Jan, he would sit on it until the car came in March and he'd lock me in on the lowest rate that he came across from BMW financing. Last I checked he had me down for 2.9%
I guess it's not a BMW Finance issue but rather a dealer issue and what service they are willing to provide. So far I'm more than pleased.

My dealer said they had to "buy down" the rate from BMW Finance to 1.9% - saving me about $1175 (gross).

My sales person also said it comes out of the dealer's back end deal with BMW Finance, but did not really effect the sales commission.

I recently added the ability to convert all prices into monthly payments on my price comparison site. Price the same car in both slots then after the results select different interest rates for vehicle 1 and vehicle 2, and you'll know how much you're saving with the lower rate.

If you know about how much discount you'll get, just add this to the down payment figure.

AFAIK the 2.9% rate was offered for a small number of states here in the Mid West. Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio etc. I think the promo ran for Jan-March '06 I guess trying to boost sales in the off season.
I didn't even see it advertized here in Michigan. I had to ask before I got it.

$1000 over invoice for CA is a good price from what I've read on these forums.
