My 330 should arrive from the fatherland the first week of march !

The day I signed the papers, I told my salesman (who had been extremely helpful and easy going) that I wanted to be in the car if it was taken off the lot for a test drive by the mechanic. (I read somewhere that a 10mile drive is part of BMW's prep) He immediately said that wasn't possible b/c of insurance reasons, even though I'll have the car insured by the time it arrives.. We went back and forth a bit about why I wanted to be along for the ride if it was going to be driven, and he eventually said he wasn't sure if they even did that (drove cars) any longer..

Did your dealership drive your car before you could take it, or did you get it with <1mile on the clock?

The last thing I want is to get my nice new car and think some shmuck may have taken it out for a free joy ride..

i work at a dealership and the cars roll off the trucks with about 3 miles on them , by the time its been inspected and moved around a couple times its got 6 miles

and then the porters drive them about 2-3 miles to gas them up

so anywhere from 8 miles up normally

Just picked up the E90 last night. Surprisingly it had 0 miles on it when it came off the truck (not sure of the tenths). They do test drive it as part of PDI to make sure there is nothing stupid wrong with it. My dealer put 2 miles on it for the test drive. My salesman then asked if I wanted him to take it to fill it up with gas as they normally do, and I said sure (he's a great guy who's been at my dealer for 26 years...an old time BMW enthusiast), so the car had 4 miles on it when we picked it up.

If you are that stressed about it, you probably need a new dealer.

most dealership will give you the vehicle with under 5 miles on it..depending on where they wash prep etc etc...sometimes when we swap a vehicle from another dealership it will have 20, 50 100 you get the picture...

also depending on the size of the dealership..their insurance coverage goes o so far...if a tech is driving most dealership will not let you ride in the passdenger seat...you driving and tech in passenger..yes
