The three rows of seats look interesting as well as the 5000 lbs towing capacity (let's see - 3000 lb M3 plus open trailer = less than 5000 lbs).

Anyway, just curious to see what folks thought versus the X5.

looks like a darn fine vehicle to me. It will be interesting to see how they price it. Also, tow rating should be higher - I think over 6000lbs, as it is based on the Cayenne / Toureg platform which is rated in the high 6's to 7's. Anyway, it should tow a race car on an open trailer nicely and be a very civilized sedan around town too. On tow rating don't forget to add in all the gear you carry and passengers, so if you have a 4500lb trailer the rule of thumb I generally use is add another 1Klbs for all the misc stuff and that should cover you. I tow a 3Klb race car on an open trailer and I use 6Klbs as a min. tow rating for my needs. Interestingly enough, that is exactly what the X5 is rated....

Thanks... adding an extra 1K lbs sound like a good idea to be safe. I dug around the microsite some more and it looks like the standard towing capacity is around 5500 lbs and if you get the optional towing package it goes up to 6600 lbs.
