Who insures their FI kits and/or mods? How much extra do you spend on the insurance?

I don't imagine too many insure their kits. But, I could be wrong. Let's find out.

I would look at a company like Haggarty for an agreed value policy. Good company for collector and unique cars.

I'm actually required to have a commercial policy coverage up to $1million on all of our family's cars due to our franchise agreements with the family businesses. In the process I can have it insured for the value I chose and provide documentation to support that (ie receipts for labor, MSRPs for items, etc...) and all of our cars get insured for those amounts.

I pay about $8k for all 4 cars for 1 year which isn't bad considering every car is insured to retail plus minor mods except for the M3.

I insured the whole fricken car. I provided all the mod recipts to the insurance company and they insured the vehicle for an additional $13K on top of the car.

Yes, well look on the bright side, you had parts that you could sell. I don't have any parts left over or anything.

I had actually looked into getting insurance for my stuff, but I couldn't b/c it was hurricane season when I had installed my stuff. I'll be sure to get insurance before hurricane season next time.

I'm insured for replacement value. Including the mods.
I've kept all the mod receipts and AAA will add them to the replacement value.

I use Allstate on both BMW's and my m3 has aftermarket insurrance through my local agent, he just asked that I bring him the recipets for all the parts and we agreed apon a price over the blue book about 10k extra. I pay about 5k for both cars and a bike a year. It's way worth it in my opinion because 2 years ago I had a 500+ hp Lexus Is300 and it was caught up in a flash flood and totaled sitting in a parking lot. I lost lots of $$. the gave me a check for 29K. I had way more than that in the car...
