So I go Wal-Mart to look for new wipers for my car and after spending about 10 minutes going through them, I pick a pair out and head home. I'm fiddling with the clips trying to get the passenger side wiper off and finally do, but right as I do, the metal wiper-stick pops out from the lock position and CRACK. . . my windshield now has about 9 different splits running out of it.

:mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad

I'm not so much angry as I am upset. After getting a speeding ticket, I'm not too happy to be spending money right now. Being in college doesn't help, either. Great day for me. [/sarcasm]

You have my sympathies. In the future you might want to lay a piece of cardboard on the windshield to absorb the impact, should the arm move out of lock while the wiper is off.

Oh damn, mine did that but didn't crack the window... Can you go through insurance with something like this?

Don't feel too bad. Yesterday when I got done changing the oil in the 10x11 closet of a garage in our rental, I backed up to get my car off of my ramps. Unfortunately, I backed up a little too far into some shelves at the front of the garage. In my all knowing genius I had put a bag on the top shelf with jumper cables, and tow rope with big steel hooks, and tie downs. This of course falls off of the shelf onto my trunk lid, putting a large dent in it. I f-ing hate renting, and I hate this place. I'm in college too, now I need to come up with cash for the paintless dent guy.

I had my windshield repalced in my driveway by a pro for less than 200 bucks, and that was on a convertible where he had to take the whole area above the pillars apart. (florida hail damage) Theres alot of auto glass places, be sure to call around.

Last summer, washing the car, took the wiper blades off for some reason or other (hood was up and on the e34 it opens backwards) I turn around, a gust of wind blows - the hood falls, the resulting shock knocks the wiper arm with no blade on it down on to the window and CRACK.

Will never ever do that again. lol.

I have been nailed more times than I can count by my E34 hood. The forward opening looks cool, but that damn thing hurts. Hood shocks are on my to-do list, for now a broom wedged in there keeps it off of my head. Yeah, I know, classy.

Im not the only one thats been hit by the hood, lol. At least Im not alone. It looks hot when you open up the hood, but the lump on your head doesnt look so hot.

Isn't it weird how, the more you seem to take care of a car, the more it gets fukt up in the process of "caring" for it?

I park away from everything only becasue I know people ,apparrently don't give a shit about theirs, or anybody elses car.....and I still have 5 small dings this year....If i would just park right next to a crapper in the lot near the cart return cage...I would probably never get a single ding.
