What a hoot! I'm cruising along stuck in traffic in the Plaza district of KCMO. Finally I catch a break, signal and change lanes, putting my foot in it at the same moment, surging ahead of the slower moving vehicles but still only 5-10 mph over the limit.

A quick movement in the rearview, and when I look I viddy a silver tC dart a lane change about four CLs back in the slow traffic. So ... alla sudden he's at my passenger door (I'm in center of three lanes, he's far right).

We're doing fiddy now approaching a hard uphill lefthander that makes you crank hard then unwind -- sorta tricky. And I downshift to third and blast through the corner, exiting at 60-65ish. The tC is now 5-6 CLs back.

I giggle when the light ahead turns yellow, coast up and come to a full stop.

Mr. Scion hangs back a few CLs -- you guessed it, a mighty flyby in the offing.

Just before green he appears at my door, his engine all wound up like an angry electric shaver. hahaha.

I let him have a couple CLs as I ease outta a dead stop and then floor it. I smoked by him midway into second gear, then shut down for a granny car in front of me and let the tC come screamin' past.

Oh, man, I was freakin' screaming with laughter at the poseur, so I drop in behind him and alla sudden he's doin' 30 in a 35 and all but stopping dead to turn off.

I love bustin' chops on those guys, man. Almost as fun was dusting a slammed Honda in my 323i e46 Touring.

Is viddy a real word or did you just need to rhyme with fiddy? :laugh

"Viddy" comes from the novel, "A Clockwork Orange," by Anthony Burgess. It (the novel) is full of concocted words and even includes a glossary of them. Viddy was droogiespeak for "see" or "saw."

And yeah, I liked the nice sonic thing with fiddy. ;-)

P.S. Sorry if this was too goofy a post for "kill stories." I'm just trying to have a laugh. And in case my sarcasm is lost, I totally understand that my 325i is hardly a "fast car" in the straight line sense. Most of the cars in these kill stories would smoke mine in a NY minute.

Sounds like you laid down a little of the old ultra-violence, Alex.

Playing 'ogs of the road. And such.

haha

I know my car isn't that fast. It's nothing special -- stock "i" engine, K&N airbox insert, Supersprint catback and 3.73 LSD -- but it is capable of taking more powerful vehicles from standing start to 60 or so.

At a ProSolo event a couple seasons ago, I had to race against an IS300. He blew my doors off overall in the autocross--he was on Hoosiers and I was on Dunlop street tires.

But I toasted him in 12 consecutive drag race starts off the Xmas tree, leading by a CL-plus until about 60 mph, when we entered the first slalom. Then he caught up fast.

I'm working on it so that won't happen in the future -- read: learning to drive better. ;-)

Hmm I did not know that. Thanks for the lesson:)
