Hello....newbie here. I'm fresh from IS300.net. Anyhow...I just picked a 2001 525i with the sport package. Well, my question is about your wheels. I've seen a ton of pics of the E39 with aftermarket wheels but many of them did not say what kind or size of them. I'm looking at 19's but what does the majority of the members have? 18's or 19's? I really don't want to lower the car because I don't want to void my warranty. Is there anyone out there with 18's or 19's without lowering thier car? If so....can I get some pics? Thank You.

personally i think 18's are the best looking for the e39's. not to big where it's filling into the wheel well and rubs. that's my .02c.

Sorry I don't have any better pics, but in my sig I have M5 wheels on my 530iA. I also think that 18's compliment the E39's perfectly.

I would think that an E39 with 18, 19, or 20 inch aftermarket rims and stock suspension may look a little goofy. Just my opinion, though.

16's right now.....18" is probably the biggest I would go though, they seem to look the best on this car.

BTW~ Anyone selling M5 wheels ?

My ride originally came with 17" style 5's but I went with the oem 18" m-pars later on. With the factory sport suspension, I'd say it was a match aesthetically. Anything higher than 18" would mean a harsher ride, faster tire wear and more visits to the wheel repair centers. Just my opinion.

I've always been partial to my Style 19's that came with the '97 sport package.

Thanks to all the great responses fellas. Still looking for some good detailed pics. I would like to see what 19's would like on a stock suspenion. I have the sport package and it appears that it sits slightly lower than other 2001 525's.

I have 19" M-pars...I"ll try to get some pics up. I think they look great and fill out the wheel well perfectly. The ride is a little harsher due to the lower profile tires, but not bad.

upon first reading the title I was going to say "usually? bird-shite."

after more careful scrutiny... the E39 was sold a year ago.

I'm running staggered Style 37's (known as M-Par's)
18x8.5 up front
18x9.5 out back

Suspension = Bilstein Sports (the yellows) with Eibach Pro Springs with Dinan Sways and tower braces. The setup was harsh for the first 2K miles and now is simply firm and stunning in the curves. These cars handle so damn well notwithstanding their mass.

Holy crap, you got to that location before I had a chance! There are so many nice areas for shoots around the Presidio. It's the Legion of Honor, for those who were wondering.

Unless its the sport suspension i will agree with you but with the sport suspension the car sits perfect IMO.

I would say go 19s or 20s since you got a 525 and not worried about losing performance.

20x8.5 front 245/35/20 and 20x10 rear 275/30/20 :alright
