After recieving UUC's email on their new high performance waterpump made by EMP Stewart Performance, I think this would be a great time to get a group buy going for this product, because I know for a fact that us BMW guys have that weak-link, and a one time water pump like this seems like something alot of us would have interest in. I know I want one, anyone else?

I havent even talked to UUC, i just wanted to gauge peoples interest. and I have heard that a metal impellar water pump isn't flawless. I figure that if UUC wants to make an initial impression with this product, and we could get enough people who would want one, I could see a possability for a price reduction. So I was not announcing a gb but seeing if anyone else had some interest, If some people showed interest, I'd be more thatn happy to contact UUC to see what they could do.

First, UUC doesn't make the water pump. There are a couple of vendors that sell it.

I have no idea why you would want this on a street car. You can get a stock water pump for $40, that will work just fine.

"After recieving UUC's email on their new high performance waterpump made by EMP Stewart Performance" First sentance of first post.

never said that they did make it, second... the reason I've said UUC is because i just recieved an email saying that they were going to begin selling this product in febuary, So i thought that they would be a likely canadate as a vendor who would possably be interested in doing something like this. And finially, I am doing the fan delete and am doing some track events so any increase in cooling eficiency is a good thing, and I've read over and over on here of people who replace their factory plastic impellar pump with another unit that fails on them as well.. and christ man, if you disagree with the idea don't post, So please take this as the bucket of water to put out your flame.. thanks

i didn't flame you :nono

I was just saying other people sell it, Bimmerworld for one. Just suggesting if uuc doesn't want to work with you try the other vendors.

I would suggest you put your fan back on for one. The stock pump is fine, if you want to upgrade run an aluminum rad. and get an oil cooler. That will fix any overheating issues.

No flaming here man, ease up.

The EMP/Stewart Components water pump will not fit an E30 M20 engine, unless you installed a M50/52/54/S50/S52 out of a E36 or E46.Good job if you did! [Just kidding I have a e30 M20 myself]
The stock pumps just barely do the job, let alone all the impeller problems, bearing problems and seal issues. The design just is not good. The design of the open impeller [stock] does not direct the water into the water jackets, so the water can take the path of less resistence, in this case is right back into the suction side of the impeller where it will go round and round. Our pump has a manifold on it. It makes the water go into the jackets. That's why we flow more. Once we discovered this we improved the bearing with a much larger diameter. Then we used a water pump seal that we use in the diesel engine industry, there pumps have to go for a 500,000 miles.

we looked at doing it right. Not only for the track cars but the street cars to.
My 1994 325i sticked at $32,000. That was and is a lot of money for a car that uses a 60K water pump, really it went 62.5K before it came apart I quess I got a good one.

Go ahead and use the cheap inefficient pumps if you like, better buy two so you can change it out before it overheats and blows the head gasket.
