I have been looking at the E90 since htey first hit the show room floor here, and while at first I didnt like them at all, I really do like them now.
I want a coupe, but due to insurance being a considerable amount more for some reason on the coupe I will have to get the sedan (not that it really matters too much to me).
Does the sedan sport package do the same as the coupes sport package?
I'm looking at a 330, and wondering if in 3 years will the coupe be worth more then the sedan?
I was thinking about a standard, but is a standard in a sedan as desirable for resale?
I'll be leasing, so odds are I will just sell it privatly or trade it in on a new one.
if you are going to be leasing it, you will not own it. So, you will not be able to sell or trade it in. You will just give it back or decide to purchase it at the end of your agreement. If you opt for the "smart buy," you will then be able to trade it in.
I hope this helps

if the buy out is 30k, and trade in value is 32k I can trade it in for a 2k towards the next, or I could private sale it for 36 and use 30 to buy it out and have 6 left over. Its no different then a loan. This is not the first lease I have delt with.
But thanks for the opinion.

I don't think having a manual transmission will harm resale with a 3-Series.
The sedan might hold value better because it will still be the current style when you trade.
The insurance is likely different because people who buy the coupe are more often young, single, aggressive drivers who can't seem to keep their car from contacting other cars and wayward telephone poles.

Resale will be slightly higher on a sedan only due to the fact that more buyers look at sedans rather than coupes. It is also easier for a dealership to turn it over quicker if you are trading it in. Now with that being said, a lot of it also depends on your geographical region. Warmer climates tend to do better with coupes than other areas. As far as manual vs. auto, the value will be slightly higher with auto. You also pay slightly more for auto so it will probably even out. With BMWs there are a high amount of buyers who want stick. With most other brands an auto would surely bring the premium.
