You could try clay, but I don't think that was intended to take off large amounts of contamination. Is it tree sap?

it has been project car and it is finally finished. the body was on the back of my property while i was doing motor and tranny stuff. it's not sap just black stuff. i dont what it is. would wet sanding work?

Wet sanding would be pretty extreme, I think. Unless the black stuff has stained the paint, I would try some other products first. Clay, cleaner wax, polishes, etc.

the wet sanding was the only thing that worked. tomorrow i will do a 3 stage wax on the whole thing.
here are some before and after pics

Looks good, nice job. Did you try claying it? From the pictures it looks like that would have worked followed up with a mild polish.

Good pictures. I'm thinking dried on mold or spores. I had mushrooms growing in the back of a VW once but that's another story.
Did you try Klasse AIO (a chemical cleaner) before the wet sanding? How about a grit based polish or a swirl remover or did you just go from soap/water to the wet sanding?

please, please for the love of God, don't tell me you are going to wet sand the car. that should be a last resort at ALL times.
if you do need it wet sanded bring it to a professional.
try your basic bug and tar removers, with clay, compound, polish, etc.
again, wet sanding should be a last resort to ensure longer durability of the paint.
good luck.

When i worked on a farm, my car would be covered in fly crap after sitting for only a day, that might be what you had. It can be a bitch to scrub off
