Well, this kid that works with me has finally borken in his M35. We took lunch and went out for a few runs. 0-60 I would beat him by about 1 CL. 0-100 by about 2 CL, from 60-120 I would win by about 2 CL. When we went to the curvies it wasn't even a race. There was so much understeer in his car that I thought he was just a terrible driver so I asked to switch cars. We did and with the same run we had the same result in the twisties. The M35 SUX. even with the sport setup. oh yea, I also top ended him too. So for my $35K with ZSP and his $46K Infinity with sport setup who received the better value? The only thing I thought was cool about the car was you could talk to it and a little more room in the back. So, as you are losing you can tell the car turn down the heat.

The M35/45 actually handles pretty damn well from what most people have said so I don't know... M45 probably would've easily taken you because they aren't light cars

Well, now it's a 550, but the M45 is the high end M. To the thread starter, a G35 Coupe or Sedan 6 speed will wax you.. sorry.

You're wrong. Both mathups would be pretty close. The M45s run high 13s and are actually closer to 545is than 540is. If the M45s came in 6 speeds, I'd take one over a 545i any day. They are great cars.

Infinit G35: 0-60 6.5 1/4 in 14.6@ 97mph.

Ive raced a e90 330 and had no problem with it. We did a few high speed runs but the guy would never line up with me. He would drop back, try to fly by and I would stop his pull then gain on him. My buddy was playing too in his e36 M3 and also had no problem with the 330.

the infiniti g35 will beat your car. your car runs 14.5-14.7 (w/stick), and 14.7-14.9 (w/the auto). the AUTO g35 sedan goes a 14.5-14.7, and my crap 260hp 5AT does 14.4.

the race will be pretty close, but the g35 will always beat you...unless you encounter a 6sp driver who can't drive.

I'm not so sure about this. To say that a car will "always" beat another one, one of them really has to be MUCH slower/faster than the other. Too many varibles, even with an auto.

Also, I believe those times were for a E46 330i. The E90s have 30 more hp, so they should be somewhere in the low 14s now. Either way, the outcome will be close. The M45s shouldn't have a problem with the 3 series.

That's one thing I don't like about my BMW. The gauges look like they were taken out of russian airplanes...but then again when you buy a BMW, you value performance over interior. There are a many japanese cars that i'd take over a BMW if I'm looking for comfort. I test drove the E90 and the IS350 during taste of Lexus, and the interior of the Lexus was nicer. The Infinity M interiors are one of my favorites by far.

I agree. The 3 series has an ok interior. Its nice and simple. People dont buy bimmers for the interior, they buy them for how they drive.

A friend of mine has the G35 sedan 6MT, I have 100 lbs on him and have been asking for a race...but he says he sucks...so no way...:( I ran my friends new TL auto and dusted him pretty easy...everyone was surprised, people that don't know about cars are like "how is that possible, he has more hp!!!" :lol

I agree nice interiors but way too complicated...I actually did not like the interior of the 5 series, but love the new 3 series interior. I think Infiniti's interiors are nice...but way too complex...do you really need all those buttons? I mean, at least BMW's hide their complexity with the iDrive :lol

I drove a friends stock Mustang GT and raced my other friends stock g35 sedan 6mt. From a roll about 40 we punched it. I pulled a little in the GT until 60. Then the GT just died and the g35 pulled like a freight train. We re-matched. I drove my car this time against the g35. I pulled away from him everytime at every speed but he still hung in pretty damn good. Enough to surprise me.

I also drove the G35. Very nice interior but I didnt like how soft the clutch was. The stick felt like it would break on those hard fast shifts.
