Ok after all the searches and the help in my last thread I made some decisions and purchases.. now i have a few questions again (sorry.. i tried searching)

What I got:
- set of 5.25" Alpine TypeR 2way Components
- set of 6.5" Pioneer for the back
- Peripheral SVEN2 for the LOC thing
- Kenwood 175x2rms Amp KAC-7252

I know that the amp is only 4 channels but I'm not going for a crazy setup and I got a killer killer deal on this stuff cause i bought it from a buddy.. oh well screw the fade :(

ANYWAYS first of all, i've never dealt with components before and no user manual :( the little computer divider thingy that comes with them (has 6 holes to put the speaker wire), in what order does the big speaker/tweater/input go? and what order for the + -?

/------------\
|------------|
|------------|
|------------| <--- crossover Thingy (sorry they dont let me put pics)
|------------|
|------------|
|o|o|o|o|o|o|

ok second of all.. i'm kinda scared to remove my door panels.. cant find a DIY on it.. should i bother replacing the 1" tweater with the AlpineR ones?

Last of all.. not really a question but as far as i know this is what i need to do (please advise otherwise if so):
- wire front speaker outputs from OEM deck into the LOC.. run an RCA from there to the trunk
- run speaker wire from front speakers all the way to the trunk (amp)
- mount amp in trunk and connect to battery.. find a ground
- bridge back speakers with front speaker outputs on amp (only 2 channels)

thanks alot! sorry i just havent done anything this complex yet.. :)

No offense, but if you are calling it a crossover 'thingy' yo would be doing yourself a HUGE favor by having it installed by a professional who knows what he is doing. BMW's are far from the easiest to work with, especially when only upgrading parts of it.

alright if anyone can atleast answer this ONE question: Is it worth replacing the stock tweeter with the Alpine R one? or could I just hook up the stock one to the crossover???

omg. SEARCH.

where exactly is this stock crossover you speak of? Have you read any of the multiple threads on speaker replacement? do you know the proprietary way BMW mounts it tweeters in the door? Do you know the oem crossovers are actually active, built into...

nevermind....

this forum is so agressive sometimes.. you find all night searching and reading.. you dont find your exact answer so you ask and everytime people just answer "search"

might as well close this forum since posting questions in here ends up being useless for most people

built into the deck? because my system has no amp so that would imply that the deck as 6 outputs not 4... which one should i use for the LOC?

so true. Even those I personally, and this forum, have answered that same f-ing question a hundred times before, we should all answer it ONE MORE TIME, because someone new is incapable of searching old threads, or reading sticky threads that people have put alot of time in.

if you think i havent search for ever, every combination i could think of, you are dead wrong

if you are so SURE that this has been answered, find me the thread that answers my question as to: is it worth it to replace the stock tweeter? cause i sure havent found it.. and i dont sleep

that's the WRONG question. only YOU can decide if it's WORTH IT to replace the stock tweeter, this forum can only give you the specific information on HOW to do it. I mean really, you haven't even mentioned what you are trying to achieve?

Got blown tweeters? Looking for better sound? It's personal opinion WHEN, and WHAT to replace speakers with, and you will get an opinion for every asshole on here (yea, even me...but ignore that, I'm having a pissy day at work if you can't tell), but you will find out HOW. LIke me, I removed the oem driver from the tweeter pod, and replaced them with Focal soft dome's. then I cut the face off the midrange pod, fixed 1/2 inch mdf to the door panel in the inside, then mounted some Infinity 3.5 inch's in the stock 2.5 inch location. Then I stuffed the trunk with amps, crossovers and such. But that was what I was looking for, I have no idea what you are trying to accomplish.

sorry.. i just read in another thread that the stock front tweeter wasnt low quality compared to the other stock speakers.. so i was just wondering if i leave it stock and dont blast the system like crazy.. will it blow right away or will it hold its own?

Why would you not use the new tweeter?

That's like buying 4 new tires and only using 2. Or getting a new glasses prescription and using one new lense and one old lense... Catch where I'm headed with that?

you have crossovers in-line (in the wiring), so I would not use the stock wiring, I would run new wiring. it goes from the amp, to the crossover thingy, to the new speakers.

Your wiring plan is sketchy and unsafe. You will create loads on the amp that I don't think you fathom, and it will sound terrible (if it sounds at all)

Use the amp in the ??x4 mode, not the x2 mode.

Alpine has user manuals on their site, download one for the crossovers. I would not personally ever use that set, so I have no clue what goes where, but the manual can be found on alpine's site.

- Absolutely not, your wiring still goes to the trunk, grab it from there. Wire colors are the same as amplified cars. buy another LOC if you want 4 channels
- absolutely, or if you are keeping the crossover thingy in front, then just run the wires from the trunk to the crosssover in front and from there to the speakers (less wires - 2/side instead of 4/side)
- Is this a question? what else would you do? Yes. Use the car's factory ground near the battery. Do not forget to use an inline fuse on the power wire.
- As I said before, absolutely not. This is crazy, a bad idea, not something I would even consider doing. wow. no way. period. No offense meant...

Do you not have a buddy nearby that has done a car stereo before to help you?

With the quantity of questions you asked and what those questions were, I really really really really would advise against you having anything to do with the installation of this setup, sans paying someone else to do it. No offense meant.

I hope that this answer can help someone else who searches and can't find the answer. And to win your little bet, this thread here is certainly one with the answers.

Best of luck on your paying someone to do the install, maybe sleep/take a nap while they do it.

you'll see it, it goes to where the amp would be, and then makes a 180 and heads back in.

best of luck

we should have our own thread in this forum to play.

we could name it something like "poor, poor mb" or something.

yeah, that would be great!
