My roomate and I have been having problems washing our cars lately due to the fact that here at our apartment we dont havea spigot. When it comes time to rinse the car off we have been using the highly ineffective method of throwing buckets of water on it :nono Needless to say this pisses me off. Any suggestions on what I can do?

What's a QEW?

You could use a water pump on a bucket of water with a hose on it.

Protect-All's Quick-and-Easy-Wash. It's a low water washing soap, generally favored by mobile detailers and northern diy'ers. You can do an entire car with less than 5 gals of water.

Optimum's version is out and it's been getting even better reviews than QEW. It can also be mixed as a QD or added to a regular car wash for added lubrication. Many people add QD to QEW to give it a little added slickness and Optimum's is supposedly similar to that without the need to add the QD.

You could take a bucket of soapy water to a pay-and-spray place. That's what I did before I found a hidden spigot at my complex.

yep i started doing this a month ago. I purchased a nice bucket and take it down to the do-it-yourself brown bear carwash place. I stick in $1.75 and hit the car with pressureized warm soap (from a distance ofcourse). I then fill up my bucket with the same soap. Then i use my own wash sponge and scrub all the dirt off. Once im done scrubbing, I stick in another $1.75 and rinse the car and it comes it perfectly clean.

Some people may give you the looks--especially if there is a line @ the carwash. I just take my time and do my thing.

The bucket at the DIY place is you best bet.

Look for signs, a lot of places have signs forbidding hand-washing if there are people waiting.

that's a great idea for those who like to go to those DIY carwash places. I used to live in an apartment that didn't allow car washing and had a DIY place nearby that I never used.

find a housing community near you that has car washing bays, a lot of them have them in random places.

free water + lots of space, and most people dont use them or care if you do.

You should try it! You can even use the hoes to buff it. I've always been satisfied with the results.
