Cool website - fun to see local pics (I remeber the days when the drive to Victor wasn't jam-packed with Ramblin' buses - that was a fun road then.) I used to work on the cog train back in the late 80's - got a good view of some hill climb action.

Now I'm shopping for an e36 M3 - care to answer a few Q's?
Did you have your car pre-Dinan mods? Do you have it serviced at Winslow, or do you know a quality independent tech? Anyway, sweet looking car - see you around...

Yep, things have become less than peachy since I arrived here from NM in 1967. But, the back road to Victor from Gillette off the Cripple Creek road is now paved and rarely has anyone in the way. If you head up Ute Pass before 7AM on Sundays, you'll miss the casinos shift change and find the road mostly clear. Best to watch for the CSP between Manitou and Crystola (and Silver M3s). Wonder if the the CSP lurks here; "hi guys!" Been a while since I had the pleasure of their curbside company.

I've an ESPN clip (fair use rule, for sure) of Bobby Unser commentating on his '66 run (in-car cam) up the Peak in his Chevy sprinter. I 'spect you might like a look or a copy. I saw him finish 5th in that car in '68 despite a right front flat he picked up at the Cove. Here's a couple stills from the clip:

I picked up this Garage Queen M3 (GQ no more, she's working now, year round) in GA last Feb. The previous couple owners installed all the goodies [save the winter wheels/tires 8^( } and got it right, bless, 'em.

I've been lusting after a compressor after seeing the performance drop with altitude (car is a real sport at sea level) and in view of the always pressing need for more power for mountain passing (the '84 Alpina B9 is no better).

I've read the Corky Bell compressor/blower book and thought about doing a custom (twin screw might fit) or a kit but I'm fading on the idea. People happy with their SC rides seem to be mostly at sea level. I'm leary of the issues of getting an OBDII SC car to run well at our 6K-14K' altitude and wide temp/humidity operating range here in Colorado.

The existing Dinan mods are very smooth here and I'm leaning towards a cam upgrade if the Conforti software sorts out for our environment.

I've used Concours Cars (http://www.concourscars.com) for a couple Audis, '72 2002Tii, '84 Alpina B9 and now a '96 M3. They're good and the whole staff are car enthusiasts. I've used Winslow for a couple CPO fixes but that ends next month so I suspect I'll not be seeing much of them.

Email (cox@rmi.net) me and I'll buy you a beer or whatever libation suits you. I expect we need to talk about important stuff like driving/motorcycling/skiing/?/? fast.
