Looks like best bet for a get-together in the Lexington and Red River Gorge area will be Saturday April 1 and 2. Do you Louietown guys think you could come down this way and meet us for the GTG and run through the Red River Gorge before the crowds tie the park up? I will scout out a good route and make maps.

I think it would be good to be open to all the German rides. In fact, we have started a small group called Bluegrass Bavarians to cover the Bimmers Benzos Audis VWs Porsches that are not affiliated with other clubs or chose to run with both.

I did this about a decade ago and it was a blast. It was the Spring Fools Run and it should be an annual thing. Most likely we will need a couple of folks from Louisville to come down early to help plan and coordinate.

I will post this on MBWorld and BenzWorld fora. Please add to other fora and list them here so we will all know where we are getting out.

Reader's Digest April 1-2 Bluegrass Bavarians All German Marques Red River Gorge Details to follow regarding tshirts, camping, Lodging, meeting, etc.

Please post up to this thread only for this event. Thanks

So let me get this straight... it is a 2 day meet?

I need to know because the sooner I request a day off, the more chance there is of me actually getting one.

The Run will be April 1 but camping and lodging can/will be Saturday night. Not sure if it will be a part of it or not yet (input is slow on that one). Problem with having two days is that there is NOTHING to do at Natural Bridge on Saturday night so we would have to move everything to Lexington for Sunday if it were going to be two days.

I believe that it should be an 'official' one day April 1 event and have camping/lodging for those who want to camp and lodge and those of us who what to hang around and visit can. That is have these things have always been in the past. Two day events take way more planning and logistics than would be possible in this short of time.

Also, I think the run should be around 1 pm to allow Louisville and Cincy folk to get to RRG and meetup. That would allow two hours for the drive and plenty of time for other stuff afterwards before heading home or camping or whatever. I will also be getting one of the local indys to participate and hopefully a good video crew.

Have the audi guys post up on their web site if they have one. We would like to get as big of a turn out as possible. As we get closer, I will try to get some numbers together as to just how big it will be. Also, maps will be coming end of Feb.

BMWManiac: That is the plan. Hopefully we can get some video. I am trying to get someone for that but no luck so far.

slocar: I am going to work on it this weekend. If I fail, I will call. Expect a PM on Monday.

Sponsors are starting to come online. Already have Stuttgart Motors in Lexington and working hard on a couple of others. Trying to get about 100 Tshirts. That is the goal.

What kind of website are we shooting for? If you can describe it, I can design it and draw it ... then we'll work on text etc from there. how many subpages etc ... just give me the description of how u want it and we'll work fromt here.

Riding the water is not off topic. I remember a long time ago doing some cartopping down on the Cumberland River. Should not, however do that with the rally. Could get real expensive.

slocar, I will email you tomorrow with a layout and see what you think. I want to keep this simple. One page with links for maps and directions and contact information. That is really going to be it until the event is over then the site can grow with pics and stuff.

Guys:

Due to an illness in the family in California a few weeks ago that turned into a death in the family this past weekend, I have been unable to prepare the details for the event this April 1. The two guys that were going to help me decided that Spring Break with their girlfriends was more interesting than organization so things did not get done during my absence (I have seen their girlfriends and cannot disagree).

I still want to get all the groups together but I think next time we will need to get a more broad group to organize the event. Maybe something around Derby or something.

I am very sorry this fell through.
