We did a couple of runs on I think it was hwy 237 towards Milpitas.

both runs RJ got me from the beginning but then I caught up.

RJ has a 325is with Intake and exhaust 5sp. I have shark, intake, and exhaust AT.

We did more runs but I guess these were the clearest. They were all both filmed from RJ's car.

Pretty decent video/sound quality for a phone! Looks like fun.

The last vid we took it up to 120mph. We saw CHP and we hit the brakes. We still passed him at 100mph+. Luckily he was giving someone else a ticket at the time.

Well the shift would have helped quite a bit there. You probably are well aware that your car makes all (most) of it's power up top. By shifting at 5500 not only did you rob your car of that HP, you also then dropped out of your peak power area after the shift. If you had shifted closer to 6500 (that the rev limiter, i forget :( ) then your next gear you would have already been back at the sweet spot. That would have made a nice difference.

WTF? That is strange that they would make one for the 325 and the m3, but not for you. Have you ever called to make sure? Sounds like a typo.

I spoke with Eric from Dinan he basically said they didnt have time to make them for the 328's as they are now working on the E90's. He said in order for me to get my car a tranny chip they would need my car for 2 weeks so they can crack the code and yadi yadi yah.

That 328 is an auto right? There is no way a 325is with minor bolt ons would pull like that on me from the start with my 5 speed. Every 325 i've raced hasn't even been close.

For some reason I always thought your car was a 5 speed. Still won though.

I'll be putting in a 3.38 LSD and and an OBD-2 cat midsection :D . I'm really thinking about custom tune but that costs bank also. You might want to look into a ltw flywheel or have your OPN welded on and then doing a CP. So is there a thread on what happened to your car? Hope it wasn't too bad...

Ahh ic. OPN is you oil pump nut and a CP is a crank pulley which gives around 9-12 whp. There is a whole debate that doing a CP might loosen your OPN therefor it would be safer to weld it on first. I was woing to do a CP for the longest time but I don't think its worth the risk which is why I will probably end up doing a LTW flywheel.

I have UUC UDP's, don't think i can roll with a crank pulley, or would swap the UUC's for a CP. I dont think i've ever seen a Dyno with the addition of a crank pulley, but 9-12whp seems kind of steep.

Flywheel is a could possibilty when i do my clutch, but i think the rattle would drive me nuts even tho i have the bump to block it out...i just dont like mechnical car noises/rattles, makes the car seem older and more beat up to me.

Performance ideas i am actually considering before turning to FI;

Silicone TB Boot
either headers, or have my manifolds ported to match the exhaust manifold Gasket, then coated
Would definetely get the 3.5" HFM/CAI and larger injectors, if someone had or would do a tune for those mods on my engine.
Custom Cams (regrind m52 cams to desired specifications)
Magnaflow Carb legal racing cats
and last but definetely not least, i would like to stroke my 2.8l to 3.0l, using a s52 crank and other parts that would be neccesary to do so, but haven't seen it done yet.

I haven't started officially looking into stroking the m52, but i will get to the bottom of it. I think its going to require asking the right people here (and i have few in mind) as well as talking to the right people at the right places to get all the info i/you will need. But i think that'll be in the future when i have a second vehicle considering all the down time, and the millions of things to be done til then.
