How do you keep your chamois clean? I rinse mine after every use, but I'm starting to accumulate some dirty spots on it.

It said on the packaging that it would be fine and so far so good. seonadancing 01-25-2006, 11:47 AM i never really thought of washing my chamois, i just rinse it after every use to take the dirt out. palomino 01-25-2006, 05:01 PM i have an absorber and a traditional smelly leather chamois. both get washed with the car towels after each use. I use pine-sol instead of laundry detergent though. I think it cleans the waxes & oils off the towels better, and it also keeps the grime from settling on the inside of the washing machine. I have a lot of of towels & chamois though, so I dont have to do car-laundry twice a week. :D I actually think the leather chamois works better after going through the wash & dryer. cosmom3 01-25-2006, 10:05 PM I personally think Chamois are old news, and you need to invest in some microfiber. Its been proven that Chamoi are just a spunge for dirt. There for when ever you use it you literally scratching the hell outa your paint. Having a black car, you really see whats GOOD and BAD for the car, chamois are not one the good things. palomino 01-25-2006, 11:47 PM I personally think Chamois are old news, and you need to invest in some microfiber. Use any scratch remover....Do just the hood. Then use half the side for your chamoi and the other half with microfiber. Tell me which side looks better. I have done this test, well because I didnt believe it. After about a month I was seeing significant cob webing starting on my left side. Where as my right side (microfiber) was showing some scratches but nothing to the extent of spyder web effect. Try it and tell me what your experiance is :) palomino 01-26-2006, 04:03 AM Use any scratch remover....Do just the hood. Then use half the side for your chamoi and the other half with microfiber. I've stopped using chamois since i bought a pack of MF. |
