Mdriver on DTM is trying to get a GB on schrick cams here's the link
850.00 a set! with 20 orders (each cam counts as an order so each set is 2 orders! that means 10 people need to order not 20!)

What's the typical performance gain for an M3?

do I have to convert to OBDI?

If only Josh @ Eurosport were selling the CAM chip alone I'd be in on this.

From what I hear when I talked to him a while ago, you can't buy a Conforti chip for that setup without actually buying the setup from them. Cams, HFM, Injectors (for 95) more stuff for the OBDII.

Doh!

Phid,

So does this mean that this group buy should only be done if:
a) you have a 95 ///M3?
b) you have a 96+ w/ OBD I conversion?

Otherwise, you have to buy the WHOLE set up from Josh @ Eurosport - right?

Sorry, new to this side of the mod world:)

Turner sells the JC chip for Schrick cams by itself for $249. BTW, instead of buying a set of six 24# injectors for $300 from Turner, pick up a set of EIGHT 24# injectors from www.Jegs.com for $219... the Ford Motorsport ones work perfectly ;)

Hey guys check the thread at DTM for the most current info.

umnitza,

You can get the cams for any year...

Just the flavors of Conforti setups are for:

A) 95 M3 - EuroHFM, Cams, Injectors, Chip
B)96+ OBDII M3 - STAYING OBD2, Cams, EuroHFM, 95 Intake Manifold, Injectors, Chip. (This one just costs more- more hardware)

C) not a Conforti kit, but you could do B with OBD1 to squeeze out a little more HP. But I think you're basically doing the same thing as B.

You can get the cams and piece parts and get them tuned yourself I suppose.

I'm personally looking for the most cost effective method.

Bimmer95,

Where on Turner's site can you find the CAMed chip for 95s alone? Does that factor in the ConforitHFM setup, w/injectors?

Are you already running this setup?

Thanks.

It's in the CHIPS section :12: Find the E36 M3 listing and pick the "Schrick Cams, Euro HFM, 24# injectors" option from the drop down. I'm not yet running the Schrick cams and 24# injectors, but I do have a used Turner (JC) #T413-371 chip ready to slap in for I do get the cams :D

Guys, start emailing shane@kormanautoworks.com, lets make this happen!

I may be wrong, but.... I believe that the Conforti chip sold by Turner (among others) for use with the Schrick cams is only for the '95 OBDI E36 M3.

Chip is only for OBDI, that be 95s.

96+ have to do OBDI conversion.

For OBDII cars 96+M3s you don't have to go OBDI. Like I said earlier, Eurosport has the kit to keep you OBDII but be able to use the cams, etc.

Check out their site http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com/cams.html

No affiliation.

I've driven a 99M3 with this kit (still OBD2) and it's great....granted he had a whole bunch of other mods, the 3.2L just felt so smooth and powerful. Almost made me get rid of my 3.0L...

I wish I could find someone with the Cam kit on a 95 so I could get a ride and see how it stacks up to the 3.2L.

But it is cheaper for us 95 guys to do these mods. :D

bimmer95,
thanks for the info...I think that's a savings of ~$300 bucks instead of going for the Turner kit. (getting the parts separately)

Money for the Hardened valve retainers...

Yes, if we can get at least 10 people the cost is 850.00 per set.
The 264/256 cam set is the one being offered.
If you have a 95 M3 it is a bolt and go. If it is a 96 or newer then you will
have to convert back to the Bosch injection system.

These cams are brand new Schrick cams

Yes, I understand... I have the full Eurosport/Conforti OBDII cam kit on my car!

My only point is that I don't believe that you can separately purchase the software necessary to make the cams work on an OBDII car from Turner or anyone else. I believe it is only available as part of the complete kit (which, of course, includes the Schrick cams) sold by Eurosport.

Neil,

I agree.

For 95s you CAN get the separate parts.

For 96+ M3s OBDII, it does NOT look like you can get the software piece.

Thanks.

You're absolutely correct, the Kit Eurosport sells it's a whole kit, you can NOT purchase the parts seperately.

Also, NEIL, are you the one that got his done at Curry's?

Are you gonna be there tomrrow for the Curry Clash? I like to ride in your car...

From Turnermotor sports Check the last paragraph!
E36 M3 Schrick Camshaft Upgrade Set

The 1995 M3 is one of our favorite cars to upgrade for bigger horsepower. We usually start with the Conforti Euro Intake (which includes a larger mass air sensor and special Turner Motorsport chip. Then we go after the exhaust with a Borla muffler system to further improve airflow. After those items we suggest you go with our Schrick camshaft upgrade along with 24lb fuel injectors (stock are 18lb) and a new Turner Motorsport chip. Adding a larger intake and exhaust will only partially move more air through the engine. More aggressive camshafts (264° intake and 256° exhaust) are the final, but equally, important step to increase airflow. This final step will result in an additional 16-19 hp over the Euro Intake's +32hp. That's within a breath of 300hp from your American-spec 3.0-liter engine!

For the 1996-99 M3, we use the same cams for a similar boost in horsepower. A Conforti Intake Kit is recommended first. Software and larger injectors are not required when upgrading the cams for this car. These will drop in for an additional 16-19 hp!
