I went to a party earlier tonight and one of my friends was talking about some other persons new civic. My friend told the guy that i had a bimmer, and the guy seemed to know i would take him out. He said he had an 06 civic coupe but when we got to the parking lot, it was definatley the previous generation civic coupe. All mods on it that were noticable were an exhaust and wheels. When he saw my E34, he noticed that it wasnt a "new" bimmer and starting talking shit because he now thought he could beat me.

The guy was going to have a small gathering at his house after the party so we decided i would trail him because i didnt know where his house was. We get on the freeway, its 1:30am and the freeway is empty. I take this chance to pull up besides him and look over. He looks back, i honk 3 times and take off, he doesnt bite. Im thinking he doesnt want to race, so after im about 15 CL or so in front of him, i brake to get back down to a reasonable speed. As im doing this, i notice he is accelerating hard. Im going 80mph and I wait for him to get 3 CL behind, then i punch it. Hes back 2 CL, 1 CL, almost at my bumper, then he starts fading back pretty quickly and i have at least 5 CL on him by 110. I brake to get back behind him.

We get off the freeway and get a red light. Hes to my right and i look over to see if he wants to go from a stop. He revs his engine, i dont because i have an auto, light turns green and he has some wheelspin. Im behind by like half a CL for a moment, when i hit 3500 rpm, i pull hard and hes behind 2 CL at around 50 mph. We get to his house and he doesnt mention a thing.

Talkin shit about your car...what the hell could he say about it that couldn't be used against himself?

"Dood, wtf, your bmw isn't a new model!"

"I never said it was, however you said you have an 06' Civic..."

I didnt even bring up the fact that it was an 05 because i just wanted to race. I forgot to mention when he wanted to "drift". He took our caravan of 3 cars to a buisness district. The rest of us pulled over while he accelerated, braked hard and turned causing the wheels to squeal. Thats considered drifting nowadays.

Even the 8th gen civics wouldn't stand a chance, the old 540's aren't exactly quick off the line but once you get them rolling they are amazing. I got to drive one just this week and it was a blast.

no, i'm pretty sure that's just his own personal sub-standard definition. I've got some friends that rock some RWD asain cars... and they can pull off some nice stuff.

Drift with a FWD car hmmmm.....I'm quite confused and also embarrassed for the civic driver.

Yeah, that was the point i was trying to make. Drifting is alot more than just losing traction.
