CAR IS SOLD.
just bought one from a private owner and am re selling. car is located in Northern VA. Price is negotiable.
PICS IN LINK AT BOTTOM OF POST
red with black top/leather
140k miles
5 speed
car drives pretty tight, motor runs great, trans and clutch are super smooth.
body is about as good as one can find a 87.
paint is pretty good, some oxidation, i dont have the time, patience, or skills really, to high speed buff the car, but it would look awsome with a professional exterior detail.
leather interior is semi rough, but repairable. the stitching has come undone on some of the seams(leather shrinks as it ages) and the only rip/tears is on the driver seat bottom. Not really a tough fix, the leather can be re dyed to look great.
top is kinda weak as well, it operates fine(manual ofcaorse) but has a couple cuts in it, also the rear window is split. buy a new top, or patch the cuts, and replace the rear window.
tires are pretty good.
brakes fell okay.
motor revs nicely and runs like a champ, no noisy ticka ticka from the lifters.
also has a fairly decent kenwood tape deck and 10 disc changer.
i have a few service records on the car, but nothing extensive.
new shocks struts, heater core, minor misc things, ect, performed around 110k or so, timimg belt done around 80K(according to records, may have had another one since then)
car is fun to drive, love the motor and tranny action, feels solid.
HAS VALID VA INSPECTION
i bought the car knowing that i would have to fix/repair/replace the interior and the top, but i dont want to tie up that kind of money in a 87 model, and i dont want to have to sell it for over 4k when complete, so i will see what i can get for it in its current state.
if it were my own personal car i would patch the cuts in the top and replace the rear window......cuz a new top installed is not cheap and the current top "looks" clean enough. I would also remove the seats, pull the leather off the padding and re sow the seams, and the have someone re dye the whole interior, around $250. then a good detail with high speed buff. do this and you will have a pretty sharp lil bimmer.

send me an email, christianwann@hotmail.com
car is also listed on craigslist.org
ALSO, i have a VERY clean 1987 MB 300E with under 120k miles that would make a really nice driver, want to get a little over $3k for it, will post pics if anyone is interested.
