its time to part with my car, im a college student and cant afford to keep it up and i dont want to ruin such an awesome car. the car is in pretty good shape for its age, with just minor coat damage for a 15 year old car. it has 152,xxx miles alot of them on the highway at crusing speeds, i have every record of everthing ever done from the day it came off the lot. oil changes every 3k with out fail. always with the best oil. all the major compentents minus the block have been replaced in the last year I just replaced the tranny about 2,000 miles ago or so ago but for some reason it will only go in third gear now. its under warranty with the rebuilder but they think i ruined it when in fact it was thier fault, im sure someone who knows more about cars could let them know whats going on, it drives fine but its a problem that will have to be remidied and i dont have the potential to do so. so i have to get rid of it, its just not a good car for what i need regardless of how much i love it.but heres whats been done in the last 12 months:
new trasmission,
new rotors(slotted bremos) and pads
new suspension
new dme software,
new belts and filters
new rag joint ( between trans and drive shaft)
new exaust from the cats back
new head gasket
other things,
ac schtizer boot badge and engine software (198rwhp on the dyno)
16'' mili miglina 5 spoke wheels with 225/50/r16's
540i slotted rotors
2 owner (me and my father)
all the electronics work with the exception of the coolant level sensor which goes out intermittently.
no smoke or major engine trouble
starts when you turn the key with out delay
interior wear and tear constant for a car its age
the new transmission has 2,100 miles on it, it runs fine in manual third gear but knocks in drive. its fine on the highway and around town , its just something that needs to be adressed
