View Full Version : It's that time again, UCONN CAR SHOW!
BealeAss 01-21-2006, 04:15 PM Good Evening ladies and gentlemen. This Year's UCONN CAR CLUB CAR SHOW will be held on Sunday, April 9th 2006!!! Spread the word! Now I'm sure you're wondering, first, why we picked the 2nd week in april, and second, why we picked a sunday. The 3rd weekend in april, 15th/16th is Easter Weekend, and the 4th weekend in april is that special time of year that all car enthousiasts park at eastern. Our only option was the 2nd weekend. We originally wanted saturday, however that's Open House and UConn says they need W-Lot as an overflow lot for incoming families. So our ONLY option is Sunday. It's sunday or bust, come rain or come shine. Open house will be a Great time for us to promote the show! While incoming families are sitting in 195 traffic they can take a gander at a couple strategically placed road side banners and signs.
Our goal is to break the 300 automotive attendance mark and strive for 500 cars this spring. For all of those who were not around since the begining, our first show was in the fall of '03 and on 3 to 4 days notice we were able to scrape together 50-60 cars. Come Spring of '04 with a 10-12 day notice we saw numbers approaching the 150 car mark. Spring of '05 brought in 250+ automobiles, thousands of spectators, and a couple super cars; Porsche GT2 and a Ferrari Testarossa.

just as a little back story...last year bealeass was a student at uconn and through this website and others, an entire row of W lot (a big ass parking lot) was filled with m3s from all over. he goes to syracuse, but it looks like he is planning on entering enemy territory for this car show. i am definately looking forward to coming out and seeing this again. uconn car show was a great time last year.

BealeAss 04-01-2006, 01:45 PM I am absolutely entering enemy territory...well actually I live everyday here in enemy territory as I wear my husky colors with pride around this orange zoo of people.
Myself along with many others from last year and some more guests will be attending as an unofficial secret attending and sponsorship by a new project I've become involved in. Shoot me an email back and I'll give you my cell number we should meetup, and maybe do a radio interview about Uconn and my current project. Thanks.
