GTSRacer 01-20-2006, 04:37 PM We have 16 cars registered so far for VIR next month - February 18-19.
It looks like it's going to be a fantastic turnout and still a month to go!
GTS has 2 Sprints, with Sunday's race staggered start with the Enduro and checkers coming out after 30 minutes or so.
The Sunday sprint race is limited to GTS, Camaro/Mustang Challenge and 944 Cup only.
I encourage you to sign up soon and join us for a great time.
IMPORTANT >>>>>
You can do so at

Wow ok, you guys need to come, it will be so much fun! So looking foward to the event... Are you coming????
I am bringing the 2.7liter World Challenge E36, about 320hp, not really competitive against your car but so much fun!
Also maybe the 2.8liter E36 for my partner, again nothing you need to be scared of... like 300hp...
And finally maybe one of the Hyundai Tiburons we just acquired, here are the pics in order...:redspot

I'm assuming that 2.7L is out of WC spec?
Watts car is only making a tiny bit over a stock Euro 3.2l. Tec3/headers, stock everything else.
Thats an awesome Blue on your #26 car!

We only put 270 to the rear wheels right now. :)
Losing a little weight with a side exhaust this weekend. Hoping to add about 60 horsepower sometimes soon.

Thanks but it`s just the Laguna seca blue, I would love to have come up with that color myself!
Yeah not WC anymore... the 2.7 is a 3.2 bloc, 2.5 crank, oversize valves, solid lifters, etc... We made around 268whp @ 6400rpm on a Dynapack because of the stock intake: ITB`s would probably give us another 1000rpm and 20-30whp to play with!
Yeah but Watt`s car is much lighter than mine, I must weight 2850 for our series, the car is all steel. But the more german cars I will se over there, the more fun it will be (especially with Watt`s car kicking ass:buttrock )

On what kind of dyno?
B.Watts 01-21-2006, 06:40 PM Dynojet.
chuckbilodeau 01-21-2006, 06:46 PM How does it compare to a dynapack? I heard that my 268 would be like a 230-240 on a mustang?!?!
Steve J. 01-21-2006, 06:58 PM I would not even waste time comparing the dynos.
Damn, thats LSB, that color looks different on every car.
Bry, check your PM.
GTSRacer 01-23-2006, 11:58 AM Love all this dyno talk guys... which reminds me> If you're running the sprint on Saturday (and Sunday), then GTS Challenge mandates a RECENT dyno sheet. See 2006 Rules at http://www.gtschallenge.com/rules.htm and look for the Dynamometer certification form on that page. DynotJet is the standard, BTW. Barring a dyno certification, all GTS cars will automatically classified as GTU.
If you're just running the enduro on Sunday, then only NASA rules apply.
magnetic1 01-23-2006, 12:38 PM for those of you in the DC area.... a Dynojet shop in Frednecksburg has a special this week for $55.... Im heading down there on Friday to get my car dyno'd.... then I just need to register and I'll be all set!
Except for my license.... Oliver, is there anyway to check w/ NASA national on my license? I sent in all the required forms a LONG time ago and havent received anything back. :confused
GTSRacer 01-23-2006, 12:50 PM Don't sweat it Eric. I'm still waiting for my renewal as well from NASA. They're seriously backlogged I would think, particularly with the growing interest in NASA in general with the announcement of the national championships in September.
Anyway, just bring proof of your license submission and any other related paperwork to VIR.
Also, and I will announce this as we get closer to the event, we will be holding a separate GTS Challenge meeting on Friday evening, 2/17 independent of the NASA meeting - attendance at this meeting is required to go out on track Saturday morning. That meeting will also be the time to turn in dyno forms for classification.
magnetic1 02-04-2006, 12:51 PM I know.. it is still early... but I found the "long range" forecast interesting :)
2-17: Rain and freezing rain in the morning; an afternoon shower. Winds from the NNE at 11 mph.
2-18: Saturday Night: Snow. Winds from the NE at 9 mph.
:eyecrazy
B.Watts 02-04-2006, 12:54 PM Yeah. The weather is looking rough. Between the weather and registration being full anyway, I think we're just planning to test and work on setup at VIR on the weekend following the NASA race.
I wish I could be there for my first NASA race...but gotta be out in the midwest on bidness that weekend. I'll probably run a couple CCA races this year to keep my license current but I'm really looking forward to mainly running NASA this year.
Hope you guys have a great event and no snow :)
H Man 02-04-2006, 06:14 PM I'm planning on running the Enduro on Sunday in E0. We might also bring a S4 for the race. It depends if the motor is ready by then.
