I've actually had good luck using a good hard paste wax with no cleaners, a carnuba like Meguiar's #26 Yellow Paste Wax, it's held up wonderfully. I don't use harsh cleaners to clean my wheels, after you wax them, you don't need to, just soap and water like you use on the body...

I 'll tell you what I found to be good. I use P21S wheel cleaner (FOAM TYPE) first then rinse off with water real well and then I use the P21S cleaner and then top it with P21S carnuba wax. I do it every 6 weeks and all I have to do in between is just rinse them off every time I wash. It protects the wheel and keeps brake dust from sticking. I have it on my 7 series and I just drove it over 1200 miles on a trip and all I did this morning was wash the car and rinse the wheels real well and it looks great.

I have tried wheel waxes form A and M but Mike the owner recommended I try this and it works great. If you want more info drop them an e-mail and tell them what kind of wheels you have and they will let you know. they are at www.aandmmotorsport.com Try them they are BMW enthuesiests and their prices and service is second to none.

I use one coat Klasse All-in-One then several coats of Klasse Sealant Glaze (a few days apart).

Lasts very long and I clean with just a stream of water.

Tried Collinite and P21S and they did not last. In fact, they appeared to attract the brake dust, whereas the Klasse seems to shed the dust.

LowTech beat me to it! There are really no special wheel cleaners on the market. A good symthetic sealant like klasse or zaino will protect your rims quite well.
