Pulled next to a new Mustang GT.

Off the light, that thing smoked me by about 3 lengths. I did not drop my clutch, started off like normal driving. Punched it in second and was still back by 2 1/2 to 3 car lengths. Hit third and went right on by him, shut it down at about 90 m.ph.

Doesn’t the SC actually develop less power than stock below 3000 rpm due to parasitic losses?
Next time drop the clutch at 4000, and throw the gf in the trunk for added traction.
Good kill!

Haha, I read this and was like what the heck. Even when I read your numbers i didnt get it because it was 330, and my brain saw 230.....then I got it...BOOST.

Yeah mark.......not quite the best story ever posted. :stickoutt

Hell you've posted better ones. But it gets the point across at least. I remembered you were SC so I was like....why weren't you kicking his ass, then I noticed it was a new GT.

Also I like your sig, that picture is the hottest I've seen you use so far.:)

Yep, I wasn't sure he was going to punch it. He shot off the line like a bat out of hell. I started off normal, and was happy to catch him.

Traction is a big problem.

Parasitic losses are more or less negligible.

But the "GF in the trunk" is teh LOL of the day FTW!!!:lol

If you would have jumped on it from the beginning, he would NOT have put ANY car lengths on you and the rest is history. New mustang GT is 350 @ the crank, 290 @ the wheels.

i raced a red one light to light, guy was with the salesman we
played for a while then lined up, i would compare a new gt's performance to an older 97/98 svt's, not much down low, i was side by side it, no spray...meh

New GT should be a bit faster, the pre 99 GT/Cobras were dogs...I think the Cobras started getting respectable in 01 or whenever they got that whole tuning/exhaust recall fixed up.

Im pretty sure the GT is 300 at the crank, unless Ford is advertising their hp as rwhp.

GT=300 Horsepower at the crankshaft, 315 Tq, but bolt on GT's are registering at just over 300rwhp.

They are peppy.

Surprised me. I was taking it easy off the line.

hahah..its funny how NONE of you cited the correct #s for the new GT.

300hp
320lb/tq

so realistically they are making approx. 255-260rwhp and about 280-285lb/tq.

and just like always...respond very well to a simple intake and catback....

NICE RUN!!!!
