Let me preface this thread by saying Ive grown up in the DC area... the absolute capitol of acronyms...
However, this forum has some acronyms that confuse me... I read, read, and read some more... but I have only deciphered a few....
Heres what I know:
PC7424 - Porter Cable model 7424 orbital polisher
Z - Zaino Products
SG - Klasse Sealant Glaze
AIO - Klasse All in One
MF - Microfiber
WWMF - Waffle Weave Microfiber
Um, thats all I can think of now... I would appreciate people adding to this so we have a single thread dedicated to obscure acronyms :)

If you can think of any other ones you don't know, post them here. One of us will be happy to answer. Come to think of it, I should add an acronyms section to detailing 101.

As far as polishers go, RO (random orbital) and DA (dual action) are different words for the same thing, correct? The most popular being the PC7424 and PC7336
Sometimes names of products are shortened as well. For example...
FI = Finesse It, by 3M
SSR = Super Swirl Remover, by Poorboy's

This is more what Im looking for... things like FI! while I have recently bought them, I have never used them. So right now its not clicking in my head what your talking about.

Welcome to the detailing section,
A great place to look is:
www.autopia.org ---> Community info box, 'secret decoder ring'. The 'secret decoder ring' is actually the exact list of acronyms you're looking for.
Check out the 'Review' section near the top also, it'll save you a million questions (and a million dollars) about 'what's a good wax, what's a good sealant, what'll give me the best shine, what'll clean my wheels the best, is Mother's better than Eagle1, etc.'
Enjoy,
-John C.
