I have always loved M3's, but this one caught my attention. I was behind this white M3 in a Arby's drive-thru, and when we got out, he went peeling out (didn't make a great first impression, but...). When we got on the highway, he waved out the window and told me that he liked my car, and I said I loved his M3, and he gave me a couple runs. My car is a European 'S', so it has 300HP stock. The previous owner did some tweaking, its a bit quicker :buttrock

First, we went from 35. Upon flooring it, he got a car length on me. By about 50, I'd start pulling. I got about 2 cars on him by 115 (I don't like going that fast!). We then went from around 40. Same thing, he got a car on me (why?!?!) then I'd pass him. He was a nice guy though, it was an older M3 but he kept real good care of it. I think I've seen him a couple times before, so maybe he goes here!

How much can I get an E36 (early or late) M3 for at LEAST price? I have always liked them.

A friend of a co-worker lost his teenage daughter in the general area (Rancho Santa Fe) due to a street racing incident...She was racing her "daddy's" 997 against some other guy in an E46 M3.

Guess who won?

I just posted here first because I didn't see an intro place, and this is the reason I regged. $11K sounds good! I am considering this.

Some people are insane in Rancho Santa Fe. They all drive their exotic cars fast through the back roads.

I am not a major street racer. I only race occasionally, and I do it when I am [hopefully] not endangering anyone but myself. I need to kick the habit altogether.

Shutup:rolleyes

This is not the place for you to preach against street racing. This is the place to talk about your kills and losses whether it be steet or track:mad

Nice kill shark. Sounds like you got a sweet car. good luck on finding an e36. They are awesome cars. I will always miss mine.

Thanks! I like my car, but I'd still like to keep working on it. I have been thinking about supercharging it.

If I buy an M3, I won't be selling my 928. It'd be cool to have two awesome German cars!

Do you mean like a 1/4 time? I unfortunately have never done that. I'll estimate around 310HP, but I have no way of knowing yet. It has alot of torque up high, though. It's just acceleration that is hurt due to the weight. I actually am not so sure now -- was the M3 just fooling with me? :(

I've been cut off (REAL BAD [pebbles splattering my windshield]) by a 911 turbo porsche on lomas santa fe, at the stop sign right before you hit "the ranch". I was in my project honda heading home and the p-car probably thought I was some mexican landscaper. The bastard! that's what I get for driving my fuel efficient honda lol.

That was the only incident of a nutty exotic car driver around this area that I've come across.

Oh, it's alright. We just bought the 928 for my son and I didn't want people thinking since I raced one recently and it won that I was just trying to glorify my new car. He's always liked 928's and he found this one for a bargain.

Rancho Santa Fe has been fun for me, though too. A guy in a Ferrari 355 Spider tried blowing me away a couple times in my SRT-4 but I stayed within a couple car lengths.

I'm kind of mad that my son raced a car in his new one... :nono

Lol that's cool. I went to junior high at Earl Warren Middle school just down the street. I played golf at The Executive on Lomas Santa Fe Dr. I grew up in Carmel valley but at the time, CV middle was not there.

fourside or 82shark who whichever one is looking for an e36 m3. Go to the e36 m3 section, there is a whole FAQ section titled "Please Read Before Posting: FAQS". It has everything you'll need to know when looking for them, and I'm sure it discusses what general values are.

I know 95's usually go anywhere from 10-15k, 96 is like 14-16, 97 is 16-18, 98 is 17-20, and 99's are like 19+. Those are jsut general areas where you can expect to find the majorities.

Thanks. I found a couple nice looking 95 M3's for around $8-11K. I might go to test drive a few.

OK so fourside is the father and SHARK is the son.

I never see an SRT-4 in the neighborhood. I've seen this black rx-8 a few times and another crx in the area too. Awesome how you kept up with the spider.

The adrenaline rush is great - i love racing too, but let's not kid ourselves, it sometimes endangers innocent road-users...in a perfect world road racers would only hurt themselves :) way cool dude !!!!!!
