So i test fitted myself in the car for the first time since i got the car and its tight. i'm 63.5" and w/ my helmet on it constantly rubs the headliner and it kinda fatigues my neck cuz i have to like consiously compress it. it sucks.

i have a sedan (thank god) w/ sport seats and theyre all the way down and tilted all the way back.

is there anything i can do to lower them further? like.. how easy does the padding come out? looks like id have to slice the leather.. could i fab up some new brackets or something? could i somehow hack up the lowering mechanisim to lower it further?

*sigh*.. i've spent so much on maintenance lately i really dont need to buy a new seat.. but i have VIR coming up in Feb and then tons of autox stuff. gahh

Convert to a manual seat, gain an inch of headroom.

see if you can make it convertible:buttrock, jks. i dont think there is much you can do, ive read about so many people complaining about not enough room in their e36's. but i think taking some of the foam off mite help abit

do what Ford did for the GT40, cut the roof and put in a plastic bubble.
