View Full Version : Fog light delete e34? romeox929 01-19-2006, 12:01 AM any covers manufactured for the e34? or even like the e30 brake ducts on certain m3's? E34nication 01-19-2006, 08:46 AM not that i've found. not too hard of a custom job, though. Qsilver7 01-19-2006, 11:21 AM any covers manufactured for the e34? or even like the e30 brake ducts on certain m3's? Since your car info is ambiguous (M50 B25)...I took it upon myself to pick a 1992 525i sedan to look up the fog light cover in the online parts database...take note of item #7: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=HD63&mospid=47404&btnr=51_0611&hg=51&fg=15 TIP: model & year info is really important in helping us to help you better...the e34 went thru many changes thru it's production run and what may work in one model and/or year...may not work in another model and/or year. :D romeox929 01-19-2006, 11:35 AM Since your car info is ambiguous (M50 B25)...I took it upon myself to pick a 1992 525i sedan to look up the fog light cover in the online parts database...take note of item #7: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=HD63&mospid=47404&btnr=51_0611&hg=51&fg=15 TIP: model & year info is really important in helping us to help you better...the e34 went thru many changes thru it's production run and what may work in one model and/or year...may not work in another model and/or year. :D very helpful and exactly what I needed! thanks :D E34nication 01-19-2006, 11:37 AM very helpful and exactly what I needed! thanks :D i'll be damned... if you get those let me know if they are exactly what you were looking for... didn't know those were available as an OEM part. I was just going to have mine made out of aluminum. ILoveMPower 01-19-2006, 11:48 AM Hmm, maybe it cleans up the look... but I LOVE my fogs. romeox929 01-19-2006, 11:55 AM i'll be damned... if you get those let me know if they are exactly what you were looking for... didn't know those were available as an OEM part. I really like mine too. I think the quad lights (headlights + fogs) that people see in there rearview mirror when your approaching must look really ominous. :cool romeox929 01-19-2006, 06:54 PM Yeah. I don't see why you'd delete them. I really like mine too. I think the quad lights (headlights + fogs) that people see in there rearview mirror when your approaching must look really ominous. :cool Since you mentioned it and that I've reconsidered, I might go HID route now instead for the fogs. IMO, it'd be useful for someone like e34nication where he tracks the car and that panel could take the brunt of debris on the road, whereas fogs are more expensive to replace. Heres Patrick's emailed regarding the quote for the two pieces for anyone interested: Romeo, Here's what I can do for you: left - 51111946497 - $29.50 right - 51111946498 - $29.50 Let me know if you have any questions or if you want to order them. How often do you track or autocross? E34nication 01-19-2006, 07:39 PM How often do you track or autocross? i actually haven't gotten out on a track in about 2 years... i told myself I would wait until suspension and everything was finished before I did it again... now i am planning on waiting until I have a daily driver... so hopefully the end of this year... as far as autocrosses I will do at least 12 or so this year hopefully closer to 18... had one last weekend and i'll have one next weekend... have to check the rest of the schedule... snaybird1000 01-19-2006, 08:19 PM i actually haven't gotten out on a track in about 2 years... i told myself I would wait until suspension and everything was finished before I did it again... now i am planning on waiting until I have a daily driver... so hopefully the end of this year... as far as autocrosses I will do at least 12 or so this year hopefully closer to 18... had one last weekend and i'll have one next weekend... have to check the rest of the schedule... Wow that's sweet. What does autocrossing entail? How strenuous is it? Yeah I single-handedly jacked this thread....sorry :eyecrazy E34nication 01-19-2006, 08:27 PM Wow that's sweet. What does autocrossing entail? How strenuous is it? Yeah I single-handedly jacked this thread....sorry :eyecrazy it's not that strenuous... usually 5-6 runs that are in the 50-80 second range. I tend to run the autocrosses that have faster courses. The local BMWCCA chapter's autocrosses are extremely fast... I usually get to or near redline in 3rd (90+ mph with the 3.15). They are extremely fun. Here's an in-car video from Jamal Mardini driving his (now sold) supercharged M Coupe during a BMWCCA Auto-x: http://www.fastjam.com/autox/cca0705.wmv snaybird1000 01-19-2006, 11:58 PM Wow! Sweet vid! I don't think my E34 could come anywhere close to that. How do your times compare with other cars? E34nication 01-20-2006, 12:53 AM Last year I was in BMWCCA A class and the closest competitor I had to me all year was 3 1/2 seconds behind me. Granted I only made it to 3 events (out of town) but it was still enough for me to win for the year. I was 4-6 seconds off of Jamal's pace... but he was also running a full race suspension, 285 kumho v710's on all 4 corners, and 300+whp. He was fastest at all the races. This year with the new suspension work I will be in AA class and will have some pretty tough competition... I am hoping to have R compounds by the 2nd race of the year... without race rubber I don't really expect to be able to win... my guess is I will be 2 seconds or so off the pace... almost all of my competitors will be on r comp's. devinwwu 01-20-2006, 04:46 AM e34nication, what is your engine setup. i have the same flywheel and JC chip and removed the rear section of the exhaust. just wondering what else you did to get 254 whp?? i haven't dynoed yet but i'd be interested to see where i'm at E34nication 01-20-2006, 09:18 AM e34nication, what is your engine setup. i have the same flywheel and JC chip and removed the rear section of the exhaust. just wondering what else you did to get 254 whp?? i haven't dynoed yet but i'd be interested to see where i'm at when that dyno was done it was a bone stock m60 with the exception of a Jim C. chip. It has to be pretty close to 280whp now I would imagine and definitely over 300 at the crank. snaybird1000 01-20-2006, 06:56 PM Last year I was in BMWCCA A class and the closest competitor I had to me all year was 3 1/2 seconds behind me. Wow. That's sweet! How different does your car handle than a stock E34? E34nication 01-22-2006, 03:54 PM Wow. That's sweet! How different does your car handle than a stock E34? it's not even in the same ballpark as it was stock... no body roll. snaybird1000 01-22-2006, 04:12 PM it's not even in the same ballpark as it was stock... no body roll. Yeah. Mine's lowered, and there is still a lot of body roll. But it is pretty neutral; no real understeer or oversteer. I need some sways though...:cool kesslerbmw 01-22-2006, 07:33 PM I picked a set of these up on Ebay last year for like 20 bucks... I have them sitting around here somewhere. I like the way they look on the car.. looks more buissness. Brent here in KC also has them on his 530. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/kesslerbmw/German%20Car%20show/IMG_1563Medium.jpg 525iT_Feen 03-12-2006, 06:39 PM I am planning to delete the fogs on my sisters 530 soon, but need to know whether she is gonna get a signal on the OBC that her fogs are out. If so, how do you bypass that so the stupid thing doesn't keep turning on. Shes had her car 6 months and gone through two foglights on her driverside. It's time for a delete. kesslerbmw 03-12-2006, 08:28 PM Sounds like she's tail gating too much.. I think it will give a message, but if you leave the bulbs in and just tuck them up and away you won't have this problem. bmwpower 04-14-2007, 12:20 AM Sounds like she's tail gating too much.. I think it will give a message, but if you leave the bulbs in and just tuck them up and away you won't have this problem. I, too, don't want to spend the money for new fogs. Not sure I want to spend the money for the covers, but I definitely would like to eliminate the dreaded dash readout. Can I just splice the wires together at the harness plug? I don't have any bulbs to use either. Anyone else? kesslerbmw 04-14-2007, 08:20 AM I, too, don't want to spend the money for new fogs.
