May not be the kind of club you are looking for, but alot of the Buckeye BMWCCA Chapter people live in the Cinnci area and they have all kinds of events. http://www.buckeyebmwcca.org/ JBgotM 01-18-2006, 01:06 PM are there any clubs around the cincinnati ohio area? ive been looking for a group that would either go to the track or just drive around and have fun... any ideas? I lived there for 2 years, and just moved to FL. Honestly, theres lots of auto-x and stuff there, but I coudn't get much for a bimmer crowd. There are the CinZRoadsters who have dinners and take scenic drives occasionally, then there's the buckeye chapter. I met a few people from it, but didn't join the club. I met up with a bunch of Subaru guys and it has grown to some other cars besides subarus and its just a great group of friends. I highly recommend that crew. They have install days almost every weekend, auto-x alot, track some, take a trip to the dragon, backroad camping trips, etc. MattThorne 01-18-2006, 01:23 PM are there any clubs around the cincinnati ohio area? ive been looking for a group that would either go to the track or just drive around and have fun... any ideas? I'm also from Cinci and have been looking for bimmer owners w/ similar interests. However I haven't really found any organizations, only individual BMW enthusiasts. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> -Matt uansari1 01-18-2006, 01:47 PM I'm in Cincy as well... if you guys want to meet up eventually, I'd be down... DaveCN 01-18-2006, 09:17 PM I am just across the river. I am planning on doing some SCCA events this year, starting in March at River Downs. JBgotM 01-18-2006, 10:51 PM just a tip for you Cincy guys... there is: Cincy SCCA: somewhat disorgnized, always behind schedule, usually pretty full attendance. TheirFord Plant events arebetter than the KY pseedway and riverdowns events. Cincinnati SportsCar Club (CiSCC): better than cincy SCCA, but still start kinda late, and you got to watch out for the curbs PCA auto-x: its kinda rare, and they usually run slow, very tight courses (mostly 1st gear), but there aren't many people there. WOR SCCA:they run up in Xenia, at the combinedovals, and make a decentcourse. Its a decent venue. Miami Vally Sports Car Club (MVSCC): by far the best. They get an early start, are always on time, free coffee and donuts, great group of people, not crwded at all, miniumum of 6 runs (usually 7-8) and always have an hour or so of fun runs at the end. Its more than worth the trip up to Wright State University in Dayton to do their events. I heard there is another group that formed late last year out on the eastside that is auto-xing now, but I didn't get much info on them before I left. You can auto-x basically every weekend in the area if you want. Hopefully this helps some of the Cincy guys. If you are new to auto-x, let me know and I can hook you up with some friends that will show you the ropes and have a good time. captainkarl 01-19-2006, 03:39 AM DaveCN by any chance do you work for Toyota? DaveCN 01-19-2006, 09:15 AM DaveCN by any chance do you work for Toyota? No. But a lot of people I know do at the N.American HQ near my house. MattThorne 01-19-2006, 10:37 AM JBgotM, I would love to try auto-x this summer. Maybe we can keep in touch and you could set me up w/ some of your friends from the area.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> As for everyone else in the Cinci/Northern KY area, I would love to meet up, but I'm at school right now, so maybe we can try to arrange something for the summer. Sorry to take this off topic but are any of you Cinci guys proficient w/ suspension work? I need to install new shocks and camber kits on my car this summer but I can't justify the shop labor rates. I would be willing to pay a reasonable price (or buy beer) which ever you prefer.:devillook You can e-mail me at mjthorne07@hotmail.com -Matt uansari1 01-19-2006, 11:02 AM Matt, I've been auto-xing with the CiSCC for 3 years (not EVERY event). If you're interested, I can take you out there sometime. I'm interested in checking out some of these other organizations as well. The only other group I've raced with was the Cincy SCCA. PM me sometime and we can touch base. Btw, with regards to your suspension question... I have an out-of-work buddy who works on our friends cars... he may be willing to do your suspension work for you, but he would charge for it. He's priced extremely reasonably and does great work. JBgotM 01-19-2006, 11:27 AM also, those Subaru guys would give you crap about working on a BMW (because of some stuff that happened with mine) but they are very good, and would do it for a pizza. Actually one of them just sold their STi and bought a '04 M3. uansari - did I ever meet you at an auto-x or did you ever see my roadster out there? |
