SHADYB 01-16-2006, 04:49 PM Hi guys, Ill be moving to the area in the middle of next month, Feb. I am moving up there because of work and need some advice. I need to find a place to live in the NOVA area, MAYBE near Alexandria or that area. I dont know a lot about the area except it is expensive to live there...
My job will have me all over NOVA, from Charlottesville to Fredericksburg up to Alexandria area. My company suggest I live near the latter area because that is where my biggest distributor is. I need to find a place to rent because Im only expecting to be in the area for about 2 years at the most, maybe less. I would love to rent a small house but an apartment would be fine...MUST have a garage.
If you guys have any advice on an area or know anyone looking to rent out a place please let me know. I dont mind a little commute since I wil be working from home more than half of the time.
Thanks in advance and Im looking forward to meeting you guys.
P.S. I already know Jkuper, great guy, and I bought my car from him.

HAHAHA!!! The car wants to be back up there...we had a talk and thats what it wants!
Preppy 01-16-2006, 07:47 PM Oh, for some early tidbits....your car, will no longer be referred to as a 'car', but rather, your 'MARB', which stands for Mid-Atlantic Regional BMW. Got it? Good ;)
Whew! Thank God Kuper unloaded that POS. He's been trying to sell it here. :rolleyes
:D
Preppy 01-16-2006, 08:12 PM I know, a lot of us almost bought it....good thing we all got to test drive it....
Jed, remember when I hit the curb and misshifted from 4-1 instead of 4-3....that was a close one....

hahahaha, that was awesome. Remember when we used it for a test bench for an experimental turbo that didn't work right when we cranked the boost to 50psi? Good thing Jason never caught on.
Preppy 01-16-2006, 08:36 PM Yeah, I mean, I was damn sure he would have noticed that the engine was a bit off after that......good thing we added that Tornado intake gadget to fix the horrible ticking sound...

Anything's better than her dirty (New) Jersey past :D
simsima325 01-16-2006, 09:42 PM welcome! it looks like you have milk in your glass.
I am in Crystal City Arlington, rather close to Alexandria. best of luck finding housing, finding the right place in the right location for the right price can be tricky in this area!

True. I guess the final straw for Jason was the tweaked subframe. Good thing he got John V's E36. That's definitely safer on the track than that E30 325is he had.

Funny.:lol
Guess it's OK to go further OT. That is the MAR way.
I wanted to cut down on DEs. Lack of fund$.
I need one of those high paying jobs where you read bf.c all day at work.
So anyway, I tell this to my wife. She says, but you like Mid-Ohio, right?
Yeah. Well maybe I'll just go to Mid-Ohio.
Then, you like Watkins Glen too. Well, OK. Maybe just two.
What about VIR? OK, Maybe just these three.
Another slippery slope down the addicted path of twisties and straights.
So yes, I hope to get back to Mid-Ohio and I'll let you know.:buttrock
jkuper 01-17-2006, 09:37 AM To take it further off-topic....have the NCC school dates been set? I can't anything on the website. I want to get my wife into the HSS/DE. I guess she needs to become a member?

No dates yet. :(
Jason and Steven, can you let me know when you guys decide to go? I would like to go. I think a few others would like to go to.:)
jkuper 01-17-2006, 10:51 AM Andy, to Mid-Ohio? May 27-28, which is Memorial Day weekend, right?
Edit: I think all the concrete patches will be gone.
Edit v2: Among the improvements will be a complete track and pit lane resurfacing, and the creation of a connector in the track’s famed Keyhole section. Also included in the project will be the removal of concrete patches from the track, the relocation of the wall and guardrail at turn one, the expansion of gravel traps at the exits of turn one and the Keyhole, the replacement of all remaining old-style catch-fencing, and the standardization of curbing throughout the circuit.
Yeah, I want to go to Mid-Ohio. Gotta go with some MAR guys!!:buttrock
Yeah, Memorial Day is May 29.

Yep, what we did last time was left on Friday and came back on Monday. Neil was nutty enough to drive back on Sunday.
We rented a garage for 2 days split 4 ways, which was awesome and reasonably priced, $175/4 I think. We should definitely go! You'll need rain tires. :help
Sounds good. I hope to take my truck, especially if someone has a trailer.
Keep me in the loop when you guys plan to go.
I hope to get out to VIR before then too.

Even last year I started noticing the changes. Madness was different looking.

When there is a Club Race parking is tight near the garage.

Hmm, I think 4 is tight enough, especially if it rains and multiple ppl want to work on cars
