So my right side low beam (xenon) is not working. I checked if there was a fuse dedicated to this circuit but could not find one, i also opened the plastic housing and could not get the ballast out. Who has some ideas on repairing this issue so that i can attempt a DIY or shoul i just take it to the dealer. It is also minus 14 celcius outside and i dont have a garage.

regards.

Doesn't have to be a 7 series owner to respond as i guess the same principle holds for other models.

Maybe you can swap the light bulbs and see what's not working?

Is this the metal ring in question to turn CCW.

Mine (I have '01) didn't have a metal ring, but instead it had plastic ring that I needed to twist CCW to release the light bulb. From the looks of it in picutre above, I think the metal ring is securing the light bulb in its place.
