I recently installed 2 sets for the local group buy. They work great and really update the capabilities of the car. Good pnp design. Just remember to remove the bottom mounting plate unless you're replacing that as well in the car (requires removal of the bumper to get to the bottom bolts - not necessary). It's a really clean and easy install.

The only downside was that the rubber cup on the low beam side has a tendency to fall off and the hid bulbs don't always hit the stops to prevent spinning.

I have them. You get what you pay for. They are on the low end of HID lights, but they are still very good. Output isn't the best, but the cut off is good. I have 6,000K and I'm very happy with how they look. I've had some trouble with the ballasts, however. They don't like me or something. Had both high beam ballasts replaced, now one of my daytime running lights won't turn on. I've posted pictures before in other xenon threads.

How do these compare to the Projector46/H7 HID kits that others other? Any beam pattern pictures?

Here are my depos vs. stock BMW xenons. They are a little low because my car is so slammed. They are better now, but not much better. I can't help that, lol.

wow, i've been searching for days for these on this and e46fanatics.com thanks a million! I assume DEPO's are on the right since they have an E-code like cutoff?

The Projector46 w/ DDE's on understeer.com is a good deal cheaper than the competitors and is practically the same price as those w/o DDE's, and they use the same D2S bulbs like OEM. Excellent, I think I've made my decision. Although, on understeers website, it list $100 extra for coupes, but I believe I can purchase sedan headlights and interchange the headlight trim and outer cover like OEM or other Projector46's from other stores. Can anyone confirm that?

Yes, the depos are the ones on the right. In light input, color, and cut off, I am very pleased with the lights. Especially for the price I paid. However, as I said, I have been having continued connection problems. Sometimes a light simply doesn't turn on. And I'll come up behind another vehicle, and realise I have a light off. I turn it on and off once or twice, and they both come on. It's a wierd, intermitent problem. I got the ballasts replaced last month, and I'm still having the issue.

Here are a few more shots I took. The car in the comparison is a 2000 540 w/ xenons.

These are just plug-n-play? No fiddling or modifications with anything correct? Silverbeam would you mind if I use your pictures above as a comparision in another thread on E46fanatics.com?

yeah, it's basically plug and play. you need to find a place to stick the boxes that control the HIDs, but that is basically the only different thing about them. Go a head and use it.

Actually on Understeer's, they're already mounted to the bottom of the projector. If you don't want DDE's, all the wiring's already there, nothing to mount and the stock harness will just barely reach all the connectors.

Yep. They'll come with a dde harness. I installed the relay in the cavity on the passenger where you've got easy access to the ground and a mounting point. Run the wires under the weatherstripping to pickup the hot at the jump connection. Run the passenger side along the other wires and around the washer bottle. Run the drivers side in the existing wire chase over to the ECU to pickup your trigger, then along the hood with the other wires to the front lights. If you're going to use the remote feature, then you can chase it inside the car right where the relay is installed.

Check that the 9006 sockets on the ballasts are black plastic, if they're metal, you should have Jim swap them out for you.

In the last local group buy that I ran, all 10 were fine. We had a few issues with bulb seating properly, but pretty easily fixed.
