Hi, I guess you are asking if this tool is limited to one car?
No its not, it can be used on multiple cars as long as they are OBDII (1996 and above)

Hope this helps thanks!

The ST05 is the regular tool

The SP02 is the FORD enhanced version, If you dont own a ford, you would need it.

Do you have to have the expanded version to use on BMW's or will the basic version work with less options? I read on one message forum that AE would not work on Bimmers below 1999. Can you comment on this?

And... is the expanded version just a conversion cable or is it software also?

Hi Zue,

Yes, we do have the expanded version
http://www.bimmerzone.com/OBD2_Scan_Tool.htm

Here is the complete list of items covered by the expansion:
http://www.bimmerzone.com/OBDII_BMW_system_list.htm
(expansion is software based and also has cables)

AE will work on BMWs 1996 or newer (which are OBDII compliant)

Hope this helps!
