I was wondering what some oppinions about an aussie model 318i "82.
Im working at the moment with one of me dads parts mates, and im looking at over the next 2 years or so, blueprinting, adding additional breathing kit, lowering, bit of visual additions, (ie, nice polished alloy rims, front spoiler and such...) converting the fuel injection to Twin webbers. My father knows how to do all this, being a mechanical engineer. im just interested to know what you people think. as a final product, im looking for a power output, whatever i have to do, of around more or less 120kw, 160.92hp.

160hp is not that difficult to make with a M10, especially if you go with dual Webers-or EFI... A good header/exhaust is key to making good power.

I have a hotrod '82 and a near stock '78... I am not that fond of the cars with stock suspension but with good shocks/struts and aftermarket springs they have a completely different personality. The extra power makes a huge difference also.

Ahh yeah, headers sounds good, i can get a hold of those. Although, Canberra is a difficult place to find E21 bits, unless you know the right people eh.

Im not entirely sure, what suspension my car is running, i know, its got gas coils pedders suspension (good suspension) it no longer shimmies at high revs, after that suspension change, but i never take it over 4.5 anyway. And, whats a better looking, and better performance size for E21's: 16" or, 17" rims.

I can probably get some nice rubber, but im counting that i wont.

one problem, i dont want my car looking too cop magnet, cops and speed limits are mighty harsh in the humble city of canberra. (and australia, those whom live here know what i mean.)
