here is what the mother's website states about the phases

CALIFORNIA GOLD®
PRE-WAX CLEANER – PHASE 1

Before you apply another coat of wax onto your vehicle, consider how well you've prepared the surface. Was the paint cleaned first? Our Pre-Wax Cleaner is formulated to clear the oxidation, embedded dirt, road salts, tar, airborne chemical pollutants, stains, old wax and other surface contaminants that may have built up. Pre-Wax Cleaner polishes out minor flaws and smoothes the paint surface. Clean twice a year or as needed with Mothers® Pre-Wax Cleaner—be prepared for Phase 2 and Phase 3.

CALIFORNIA GOLD®
SEALER AND GLAZE – PHASE 2

Restore your paints sharpest glow. Our professional-grade Sealer and Glaze is designed to polish and hide imperfections like spiderwebbing, swirl marks and minor scratches. This formula is flexible enough to work when applied by orbital buffer or by hand, and refined enough not to streak, smear or leave fingerprints. We've engineered our Sealer and Glaze to allow it to be used over prior coats of wax. It's especially effective on dark colors, reanimating the depth and vibrance to better than new.

I used to use mothers and thought it was good till I found out that they have the least amount of Carnuba in their wax.I then switched to P21S and have been a lot happier .The difference is like day and night. P21S cleaner really cleans and prepares the surface for the wax. Do one small section at a time and you will be amazed at the shine.
P21S or S100 wax are identical S100 is a lot cheaper.I would suggest you look at www.aandmmotorsport.com they carry MOTHERS and P21S and S100 as well as a number of other products. ask them what would fit your application . Send them an e-mail with your car /color etc and they will usually answer real quick. I am going to a demonstartion that A and M is hosting this evening.( Introducing new products etc.)

i use the same thing but its Meguiar's 3 step on some customers cars, and then I put on 1 coat of there gold wax on top and it works very well for people who want a great looking car but not the price of a huge 6 or 7 step job, which is often times not needed on newer cars. My advice is put on another coat of wax and it will look even better.
