I picked it up this morning.... YESSS!! I think I'm in love :love1
It so toit on the road.... yesh, toit like a toiger... but the ride isn't very harsh at all...
The options on it are Package #2 (sports package: 16" wheels, sports suspension, fog lights and sports seats), sports suspension plus (even more toit than the regular sports suspension), xenon headlamps, and the OBC. You can see pictures at my cardomain site... http://members.cardomain.com/kylek11 :D :buttrock
Kyle K. 09-07-2002, 12:09 PM Hmm... I guess I'll be nice and just post them here... here ya go.

It was too damn bright to get anything good..... I'll take it for a cruise this evening and get some better pictures at dusk
FiveEight 09-07-2002, 12:24 PM I love it!!!!!:love1 :love1 :love1
very nice!
Max///M3 09-07-2002, 12:45 PM  In my favorite color... :love1
PerksBMW 09-07-2002, 12:45 PM man that thing is SEXY!:love1 Congrats on the new ride!:buttrock :alright
Preppy 09-07-2002, 01:04 PM Yeah baby! Sweet ride Kyle, glad you got it! Hope you're enjoying the car :D
TiAg ///M3/4 09-07-2002, 01:22 PM Sooo nice! Congratulations, man!! Very toit!
The Beastmaster 09-07-2002, 03:52 PM :coolflash :wow :handclap :coolquick Congrats Kyle! Welcome to the club. Don't forget to keep it under 90 mph and 4500 rpms for the first 1200 miles. Try to vary engine speeds during the break in period.
Now, what is this toit? Is is supposed to be tight? If so, we sound like some South Africans with that accent.
Kyle K. 09-07-2002, 04:13 PM Thanks for all the compliments guys, more pictures will be coming (probably later today)
I've had summer reading to do, which isn't really conducive to messing around with the car, so I parked my car in a shady spot on the driveway and sat in the drivers seat and read all day long :D
Bryan, toit is how Goldmember said tight in Austin Powers 3... it was funny as hell.... "you have a toit body, I can tell by your toit pants" :biglaughb
The Beastmaster 09-07-2002, 04:20 PM Aaah, Goldmember, the Dutch guy who sounded like he spoke Afrikaan.
Take a break from your reading and go cruising and meet some people. Park your car in a shopping center parking lot and see what kind of attention it attracts!
Bozo325 09-07-2002, 04:22 PM I love the interior... especially having the revcounter in front of the driver and the speedo over in the center where it may (properly?) be ignored !
Looks like lots of fun...
MDabney 09-07-2002, 05:18 PM Very nice lil' ride... I'll take two. ;)
SilverStreak 09-09-2002, 08:35 AM Awesome, Kyle!!! :buttrock So are you lovin' it, or what? How comes the manual tranmission driving?
Rel44 M3 09-09-2002, 01:52 PM That's the first Mini I've seen that has the top match the rest of the body color. Nice ride. :D My g/f wants one, too.
Kyle K. 09-09-2002, 04:28 PM Rel... that wasn't by mistake ;)
And Dave... I'm definately lovin it :D The manual driving isn't going too bad at all. The only issue I had at first with the MINI was that the car I learned on had much more torque than the MINI does (A6 2.7t), so I was used to having very little gas going and still being fine... but in the MINI you've got to have a decent amount of gas going unless you want to bog like crazy... Still not the greatest at it, but I'm practicing :D
Canatro 09-09-2002, 05:56 PM wow, she's a real beauty. congrats.
bmwpower 09-09-2002, 06:01 PM no 17's??????
bmwpower 09-09-2002, 06:05 PM how long is the waiting list???
Kyle K. 09-09-2002, 06:15 PM 17s don't come from on the MC from the factory... thats only the MCS. I'm not sure what the wait is now... I think I waited about 4 months or so for mine :dunno
btw: what do you guys think about my new sig?:95 It got a weird reflection... I guess I'll have to give it another go later
Rel44 M3 09-09-2002, 11:04 PM Sig's cool. Maybe you can p-shop that reflection out?
Preppy 09-10-2002, 12:17 AM I like the sig. I didn't even notice the reflection till you mentioned it. Gives it kind of a spooky look if you ask me :)

Didn't you see pics of my Pure Silver Cooper? It's silver on silver!
Wait til you see my S! I should have it this weekend and hopefully the tint will be done. Dark Silver on Dark Silver!

Kyle,
You need to keep the revs 2k and up for any power.

Nope, I missed pics of your Mini.
VOLSBimmer 09-10-2002, 02:43 AM Looks good! How fast are the Coopers as compared to the Cooper S?
Also, how tall are you? I'm about 6'3" and not sure if I could fit well enough into one of those to be comfortable.
Kyle K. 09-10-2002, 03:54 PM The Cooper acceleration is a bit behind the S due to its almost 50 hp disadvantage. Its still got pretty decent power though, and the handling makes up for any of its lack of power.
I'm 6'2 with size 14 boots (some people complain about a small footwell... I've had no issues so I can't see how anybody could :dunno) With the seat as far back as it goes, the pedals are uncomfortably far away. My left leg is more or less locked when working the clutch with the seat all the way back. I've also got a good amount of headroom with the seat all the way down... probably 3 fingers on top of each other at least.... In the literature they have at the dealers they say a 6'7 driver can fit... I believe the MINI has more room than the e36 for the front passengers too.... :dunno You shouldn't have any trouble fitting in it.

THanks for the info.!
Rel44 M3 09-11-2002, 10:00 AM Yeah, I've sat in the Minis, and there does seem to be an awful lot of space up front compared to my M3. Of course, it's murder for anyone trying to sit in the back. :D
Preppy 09-11-2002, 08:15 PM Out back.....:laugh Good one Rel ;)
Yeah, I'm not even sure if my little brother (10) could fit back there comfortably :az:

Yeah, it's almost as bad as my old 3000GT. I figure most Mini drivers would keep the rear seats down most of the time.
Kyle K. 09-11-2002, 08:58 PM Once again... you guys are mistaken... do I always have to correct you? ;)
The back seat, while not overly spacious, isn't tiny. When I first got the car I did a little test... I had the front seat positioned as it is when I drive the car... slid it forward, and climbed into the back seat. Pulled the seat back, and guess what? The seat actually went all the way back! By NO means was I comfy (my legs were smashed into the front seat) but I'm 6'2. If a 5'10 or so person was driving I don't think it would be too much of an issue to fit a "smaller" adult in behind them for a little trip.
Anyway, my car just broke the 50 mile mark... I need to start driving more :( But with practice going until 630, dinner at home from 7 until 8 ish and homework to do... I don't have much time for a good old fashioned cruise. This weekend I'm going to go for a drive, and just go until I feel like turning around... that should get a few miles on it :D
B.Watts 09-16-2002, 12:14 AM Agreed. I'd be willing to say that the front and the rear of the Mini will fit larger passengers than an E36. Think about it, it looks small, but it is basically a box. The headroom and legroom in the back is way more than adequate for me, 5'10". You wouldn't want to take a multiple hour trip in the back, but its plenty fine for a around town. And, the front definitely fits larger drivers than the E36.
Rel44 M3 09-16-2002, 10:32 AM Well, I'm 5'6" so I can fit pretty much in anything. :) But, good to know.
